• Hamas production of the shorter range Qassam rocket began in September 2001.

• Fueled by mixture of SUGAR and POTASSIUM NITRATE, which is a widely available fertilizer. The warhead is filled with TNT and urea nitrate.

• Constructed from iron approximately 2.5-3mm thick.
