The Federal government was created to SERVE THE PEOPLE by enacting and enforcing Constitutional laws - not to spoon feed the people (that's called socialism or communism depending on the extreme - and that's what "big brother" claims to be fighting in third world countries).

The current mess exists because the Federal government has been allowed to overstep it's charter and grab control of too many "programs" that are far beyond its boundaries set forth in the Constitution. In case you didn't learn this in public school (especially if you began school after textbooks were rewritten/censored for political correctness fueled by the propaganda machines), STATES are supposed to have the freedom to establish and enforce laws that reflect the desire and demographics of their population - as well as determine taxes and budgets. Involvement in TAXES, EDUCATION, RELIGION (e.g., hosting various religious celebrations at the White House), CORPORATE or BANKING BAILOUTs, etc. are ILLEGAL activities at the Federal government level. READ THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE and THE U.S. CONSTITUTION!

I shouldn't even have to mention the unethical and irresponsible use of Federal assets, especially during difficult financial times, but it seems that the Obamas don't care about ETHICS as Michelle continues to spend millions of US Taxpayer money on her various vacations!

Thomas Jefferson said:

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them"

and my personal favorite:

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

It sure would be refreshing to have the option of a candidate possessing Thomas Jefferson's integrity, intelligence and common sense! Unfortunately, as the campaign choices seem to have narrowed down to Obama vs. Romney, I'm afraid the USA will continue its downward spiral unless local leaders step up to the plate and take back the responsibility and authority that belongs to them. Perhaps those of you who have been accepting the international media's biased reports about Israel might take a step back and consider the truth in this matter:
Iran's nuclear program was not developed to provide power for its country, but rather to wipe Israel and US military and financial interests in the Middle East off the map. Once they've proven they can accomplish that, they will move on to the larger Islamic goal (the goal Islam has held throughout history): world domination (and the UN will provide the vehicle).

For example, you see a video on YouTube - you know, the kind where someone uploaded an audio from an LP of a band from 1985 along with slideshow of photos they copied from a fan site or even worse, the lyrics!- and you post a link from YouTube to Facebook, Google+ or Twitter. According to the SOPA bill you have broken the law and can be imprisoned!

The original purpose - or at least what they're telling us - was to stop Internet piracy of movies and music. Domain names aren't used for those purposes. It is the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing protocol that's used for distributing large amounts of data over the Internet that's being used for pirating movies/music. Most people in life will never become a whistleblower, they are passive observers and also conditioned by an instinct of survival. If the enemy is the crocodile in the lake, they reason it is wise to stay out of the lake. But there are others, who see injustice or evil and they are not conditioned to standby and do nothing.

It was Edmund Burke who said 'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men (and women) do nothing.'

Hence there are some who will enter the lake to confront the crocodile to challenge the evil. And the world is a far better place because of these people.

And then, this morning, I received this picture in a "viral" e-mail that made me contemplate who the crocodiles are in our current society - I think he's one of them for certain.

So I have a few questions for you:

1. Why are US politicians (many of whom you may have voted for) and the U.N. emboldening the Arab Islamic terrorists with their support? What is their motive (i.e., what are they getting out of the deal)?
   
2. Why, in light of the fact that the tiny country of Israel isn't even as large as 1% of the land dominated in the Middle East by Arabs and was a barren land when Jews began returning to their homeland, are the Arabs demanding their possession of it? Especially considering that Jerusalem has always been the holiest place on earth to Jews, yet Mecca is the holiest site for Islam.

3. Would you agree that the U.S. should negotiate with terrorists over control of U.S. borders? And perhaps give away a few states in order to appease them? And if that were to occur, what do you think the consequences would be with respect to your safety and freedom?

The weaponry discovered on the vessel included thousands of mortar shells, ammunition, and six anti-ship missiles which may have significantly shifted the regional balance of powers in favor of the terror organizations. These missiles could have been used to threaten Israeli Navy ships, civilian ships, and gas reserves off the coast of Israel.

Only reason he is in power is that he is supported by the US"

• "The Palestinians like their stay in Jordan, even Jerusalemites are moving to Jordan according to Jordanian government statistics last year. And the King depends on US support. Remove that support and then he is gone and then the Palestinians can take over through an elected government where anyone inciting terrorism (i.e.; Muslim Brotherhood) is excluded. Then.....all is done. The King is one man; the Palestinians are the majority.

  The Palestinians in Jordan are very fragile and need Israel. They even depend on Israel for water. Thus should the Palestinians establish a state they would not dare attack Israel. The Israelis have nothing to fear and everything to gain."

The teachers meeting is quite disturbing where the concerned African American teacher asks a challenging question and the liberal-minded teacher tells her that it's their responsibility to teach that homosexuality is "healthy"! Really? WHO determined this is the school's responsibility?

These poor children! What about their feelings? It seems to me that when you teach something - as if it were truth - to little minds who have been taught otherwise at home/church/synagogue/mosque, you're creating a tremendous amount of anxiety and confusion and mistrust in either the teacher or parents. This, IMHO, is abusive.

If my child were enrolled in such a school I would vote with my wallet and pull him/her out. It appears that home schooling or private schools are the few options left to protect children from being pulled away from their own family's values and traditions. And I'm not just referring to the anti-Bible teachings that homosexuality should not only be accepted, but applauded as healthy!

Are they teaching these kids that in Islamic countries people are executed for being homosexual because that "lifestyle" is against the Quaran? Or are they only teaching the "happy" side of this anti-Christian/anti-Jewish/anti-Islamic American-accepted lifestyle?

What's next? Perhaps teaching that drug addiction can be viewed as healthy? And prostitution? And child molestation? And rape? And what about beastiality? And all the other ugly things that exist in society? And what about the child's sibling who was aborted - should we educate them about that choice and celebrate it as well? After all we don't want to make anyone feel badly about their "lifestyle" choices!

I think this video justifies the need for an Education Voucher system in the US - citizens should have the right to determine where/what their tax dollars are being spent on. It's bad enough that adults have to be subjected to "diversity" training of this sort in the workplace (to protect the employer from potential law suits), but pushing sex education to kindergarten kids is just not right. If "gay" people are concerned about their children being shunned, let them start their own private schools.

I am an American currently living in the Middle East and unfortunately find this film to be very accurate. I encourage all Americans, as well as people from other countries, to view this video and carefully weigh the facts. I am more fearful for my family and friends living in the US right now than I am for those living in Israel. At least Israel is realistic about their enemies and the need for appropriate security. It's time for the US to wake up and to stop misrepresenting reality to her citizens in an effort to prevent panic. An educated public will be better prepared to respond in the correct manner.

Melanie Phillips is a Journalist for the Daily Mail in the UK, and author of Londonistan, a book in which she issues a warning to the world in the form of describing how Muslims are taking over England, and how the government has allowed it to happen by accommodating a particularly virulent form of multiculturalism.

Unthinkable presents a portrait of the effects of military service and training for America’s war against Islamic terrorism on Steven Arthur Younger, a white American man whose childhood was probably pretty normal of someone growing up in the 80s & 90s.

Before we meet him, Younger (played by Michael Sheen) has converted to Islam, married a Muslim woman, had two children with her and carried a big chip on his shoulder over his emotional conflicts between loyalty to his country and to his religion of choice. Younger sends the government a video of himself and three bombs, each in a different major US city storage room, claiming that they are nuclear bombs set to detonate in less than a week.

LA-based FBI Agent Helen Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss) and her team are tasked with locating the bombs after the CIA admits they've known that this young man obtained the fissionable material during trips to other countries on government business and that he possesses the knowledge to build the bombs - Classified Information the CIA felt that the FBI had no previous need to know.

Meanwhile "H" (Samuel L Jackson, who plays this role brilliantly), a CIA consultant, conducts an interrogation that includes torture tactics on the suspect who we learn staged his own capture knowing exactly what these interrogations entail!

Brody, a bleeding heart liberal (according to my husband who shouted it at me several times during the movie when I was siding with her), fights with the CIA consultant over his extreme tactics and is allowed to play her role in the “good cop/bad cop” game as the clock ticks toward nuclear murder of millions of Americans. Younger proves to be a tough nut to crack due to his motives which aren’t revealed until the last quarter of the movie, despite "H" being allowed by military and CIA staff to increase the torture.

As we reach the climax and the terrorist’s wife and children are captured and brought to the secret facility, the question of whether "H" should be allowed to do the unthinkable is raised… is it possible that the torture of a few will save the lives of millions? Is it Constitutional? Ethical?

The movie left me realizing just how difficult a call it would be under such circumstances. It made me angry that radical Islam’s war on the non-Muslim world is pushing good, moral and ethical men and women down to the Islamic level of savagery. We are reminded that good people are playing right into their hands as “H” tells Brody that if she can do it, anyone can. And it seems that regardless of our choices, evil wins… if we descend to their level we have lost a piece of our souls; if we fight ethically millions of people die.

The movie horrified me. It is not a film that children should see and I’m sorry that I allowed my 10-year-old to watch it. Most sorry because it awakened me to the realization that his world is light-years away from the age of innocence I grew up in. As I recoiled, he didn’t flinch at the torture of an American citizen by another American citizen. His generation understands the psychology behind – and necessity for - the torture. May God bring an end to this insanity, speedily in our days.

Whereas, requiring such a degrading and invasive search of passengers and flight crews utterly ignores the Fourth Amendment, which says, "'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated";

Whereas, full-body scans produced by backscatter X-ray machines create radiation potentially harmful to frequent fliers and airline crew members, prompting the world's largest independent airline pilot association – the American Pilots Association, representing about 12,000 pilots – to strongly warn its members to avoid the new screening;

Whereas, generating naked images of minor passengers arguably amounts to the creation of illegal child pornography;

Whereas, these new procedures, being massively unpopular, humiliating, immoral and subject to horrific abuse, are certain to result in an increased aversion to flying on the public's part, which in turn will further hurt the airline industry and cause the country as a whole even more economic difficulties:

All valid points, however, the petition fails to mention one important fact: terrorists are always a step ahead of the idiots in charge; someone who cares so little for his/her own life will certainly submit to having explosives implanted internally (that will appear to the scanner like any other 'normal' breast implant for example) which can be detonated by impact or mixture with a chemical inserted via syringe (like a diabetic's insulin syringe that is allowed onto the plane with a physician's Rx).

I believe that the humiliation of this 'enhanced' screening is part of the mental conditioning the enemy (within) is using to strip Americans of their constitutional rights and continue to cover up the lies regarding who the true enemies are - and that the goals of those enemies are the destruction of the republic and institution of a socialist or possibly even communist regime.

This is in New York City on Madison Avenue, not in France or the Middle East or Yemen or Kenya! If any other religious or social group attempted to stop traffic for 2 hours every Friday in multiple locations in any US city, would they be allowed?

So maybe you don't care so much about NYC, maybe you live elsewhere and feel this has no relevance in your life... did you know that years before the terrorist regime announced plans to build a mosque at Ground Zero they quietly (due to their influence over the US media) put into action plans to build a Crescent Memorial to their god and in honor of their murder of Americans at the Pennsylvania crash site of Flight 93 on September 11th 2001? Islamic Armed Fortress Emerges From Pocono Mountains

The most dangerous Islamist in the world is neither Afghani nor Arab.

He comes from neither Sudan nor Somalia.

And he resides in neither the mountains of Pakistan nor the deserts of the Palestinian territories.

This individual has toppled the secular government of Turkey and established madrassahs throughout the world.

His schools indoctrinate children in the tenets of radical Islam and prepare adolescents for the Islamization of the world.

More than 90 of these madrassahs have been established as charter schools throughout the United States. They are funded by American taxpayers.

One of these charter schools - - Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TiZA) in Minnesota - - is so radically Islamic and subversive in nature that the Minnesota Department of Education issued two citations against it and the American Civil Liberties Union is suing it.

Dozens of his universities, including the Faith University in Istanbul, train young men to become lawyers, accountants, and political leaders so that they can take an active part in the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the Islamization of the Western World.
He also allegedly operates compounds to train jihadis in the tactics of guerrilla warfare.
This individual has amassed a fortune - - over $30 billion - - for the creation of a universal caliphate.

His name is Fethullan Gulen and he resides not in the wilds of southern Turkey - - but the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

From his fortress headquarters, located on 28 acres at 1857 Mt. Eaton Road in Saylorsburg, PA, Gulen plots the overthrow of secular governments and oversees the spread of education jihad throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Gulen is surrounded by an army of over 100 Turkish Islamists, who guard him and tend to his needs. The army is comprised of armed militants who wear suits and ties and do not look like traditional Islamists in cloaks and turbans. They follow their hocaefendi's (master lord's) orders and even refrain from marrying until age fifty per his instructions. When they do marry, their spouses are expected to dress in the Islamic manner, as dictated by Gülen himself.

The Saylorsburg property consists of a massive chalet surrounded by numerous out buildings, including recreational centers, dormitories, cabins for visiting foreign dignitaries, a helicopter pad, and firing ranges.

Neighbors complain of the incessant sounds of gunfire - - including the rat-tat-tat of fully automatic weapons - - coming the compound and the low flying helicopter that circles the area in search of all intruders.

The FBI has been called to the scene, the neighbors say, but no action has been taken to end the illegal activity.

Sentries stand guard at the gates to the estate to turn away all curiosity seekers.

Within the sentry hut are wide screen televisions that project high resolution images from security cameras.

Before the hut is a sign that reads "Golden Generation Worship and Retreat Center."
It's hard for the local residents to understand that the Muslim who operates this compound is not an American political or intelligence official -- but rather a radical Islamist from Turkey.

Gulen fled Turkey in 1998 to avoid prosecution on charges that he was attempting to undermine Turkey's secular government with the objective of establishing an Islamic government. Since his arrival in Pennsylvania, the Department of Homeland Security has been trying to deport him. But in 2008 a federal court ruled that Gulan was an individual with "extraordinary ability in the field of education" who merited permanent residence status in the U.S.

The ruling remains odd, because Gulen has no formal education training.

Gülen, according to the Middle East Quarterly, was a student and follower of Sheikh Sa'id-i Kurdi (1878-1960), also known as Sa'id-i Nursi, the founder of the Islamist Nur (light) movement. After Turkey's war of independence, Kurdi demanded, in an address to the new parliament, that the new republic be based on Islamic principles. He turned against Atatürk and his reforms and against the new modern, secular, Western republic.

How powerful is Gulen? And why is he such a threat to America and the Western world?
Consider this.

Turkey is now ruled by the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP)- - a party under the Gulen's control. Abdullah Gul, Turkey's first Islamist President, is a Gulen disciple along with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Yusuf Ziya Ozcan, the head of Turkey's Council of Higher Education.

Under the AKP, Turkey has transformed from a secular state into an Islamic country with 85,000 active mosques - - one for every 350- citizens - - the highest number per capita in the world, 90,000 imams, more imams than teachers and physicians - - and thousands of state-run Islamic schools.

Despite the rhetoric of European Union accession, Turkey has transferred its alliance from Europe and the United States to Russia and Iran. It has moved toward friendship with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria and created a pervasive anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-America animus throughout the populace.

Speaking on Monday at the inauguration ceremony of "TRT al Turkiye", the new channel of the state run TV station TRT, Prime Minister Erdogan said Turkey will always be on the side of Muslims wherever they are.

Gulen's tentacles stretch throughout the country since his followers, known as Fethullahists, have gained control of the country's media outlets, its financial institutions and banks, and its business organizations.

According to Bayram Balci, a Turkish scholar, the Gulen schools that have been established throughout the world seek to expand "the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turification of Islam" in order to bring about a universal caliphate ruled by Islamic law.

Several countries have outlawed the establishment of Gulen schools and cemaats (communities) within their borders - - including Russia and Uzbekistan. Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social order.

But Gulen's activities in the United States, including the establishment of an armed fortress in the midst of the Pocono Mountains, have escaped national press attention.

In his public statements, Gulen espouses a liberal version of Sunni/Hanafi Islam and promotes the Muslim notion of hizmet - - altruistic service to the common good.

Despite the paramilitary training at his Pocono fortress, Gulen has condemned terrorism and called for interfaith dialogue. He has met with Pope John Paul II, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomeos, and Israeli Sephardic Head Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron.

In private, Gulen has stated that "in order to reach the ideal Muslim society 'every method and path is acceptable, [including] lying to people.'"

In a sermon that was aired on Turkish television, Gulen said:

You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers ... until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria ... like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it ... You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey ... Until that time, any step taken would be too early--like breaking an egg without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing the chick inside. The work to be done is [in] confronting the world. Now, I have expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all--in confidence ... trusting your loyalty and secrecy. I know that when you leave here--[just] as you discard your empty juice boxes, you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I expressed here.
Why has the federal government opted to turn a blind eye to Gulen and his mountain fortress?

Why have Gulen's madrassahs been kept under the radar screen of Homeland Security?

Why have the CIA and FBI allowed Gulen to wreak havoc and topple secular governments without interruption or intervention?

They may have sapped what little moral strength you still possessed, but they forged us into steel. Do you think that you can break us now after all we have been through? Do you really believe that after Dachau and Auschwitz we are frightened by your threats of blockades and sanctions?

We have been to Hell and back- a Hell of your making. What more could you possibly have in your arsenal that could scare us?

I have watched this city bombarded twice by nations calling themselves civilized.

In 1948, while you looked on apathetically, I saw women and children blown to smithereens, after we agreed to your request to internationalize the city. It was a deadly combination that did the job - British officers, Arab gunners, and American-made cannon.

And then the savage sacking of the Old City-the willful slaughter, the wanton destruction of every synagogue and religious school, the desecration of Jewish cemeteries, the sale by a ghoulish government of tombstones for building materials, for poultry runs, army camps, even latrines.

And you never said a word.

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) detailing federal investigations into the alleged corrupt activities of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). The documents reference serious allegations of corruption and voter registration fraud by ACORN as well as the Obama administration’s decision to shut down a criminal investigation without filing criminal charges.

The documents include background information on two specific complaints filed in October 2008 by Lucy Corelli and Joseph Borges, Republican Registrars of Voters in Stamford and Bridgeport, Connecticut, respectively, during the 2008 election season.

According to Corelli, on August 1, 2008, her office received 1,200 ACORN voter registration cards from the Secretary of State’s office. Over 300 of these cards were rejected because of “duplicates, underage, illegible and invalid addresses,” which “put a tremendous strain on our office staff and caused endless work hours at taxpayers’ expense.” Corelli claimed the total cost of the extra work caused by ACORN corruption was $20,000. Likewise, Borges contended that: “The organization ACORN during the summer of 2008 conducted a registration drive which has produced over 100 rejections due to incomplete forms and individuals who are not citizens…” Among the examples cited by Borges was a seven-year old child who was registered to vote by ACORN through the use of a forged signature and a fake birth certificate claiming she was 27-years old.

The FBI and Department of Justice opened an investigation. However, the Obama Justice Department, while noting that ACORN had engaged in “questionable hiring and training practices,” closed down the investigation in March 2009, claiming ACORN broke no laws.

By contrast, the documents also include records related to a federal investigation of ACORN corruption in St. Louis, Missouri, involving 1,492 allegedly fraudulent voter registration cards submitted by Project Vote, a liberal non-profit organization affiliated with ACORN on voter registration drives, during the 2006 election season. Assistant United States Attorney Hal Goldsmith initiated the investigation with “concurrence” from the Department of Justice and the participation of the FBI. According to a Justice Department memo, Goldsmith “advised he would prosecute any individual responsible for submitting fraudulent voter registration cards.” Goldsmith identified the statute for prosecution: Title 42, USC 1973 (gg), which provides for criminal penalties for fraudulent voter registrations. In April 2008, eight former ACORN employees from the St. Louis office pled guilty to voter registration fraud.

Other documents show that the Bush Justice Department failed to prosecute ACORN voter registration fraud of non-citizens in Phoenix, Arizona in 2007 because the allegations that led to the opening of the investigation were “unverifiable.” Notably, the FBI document detailing this questionable decision reveals that a “draft Intelligence Bulletin…concludes that ACORN’s employment practices perpetuate fraudulent voter registration.”

The ACORN documents uncovered by Judicial Watch include internal FBI memoranda, signed affidavits, subpoenas, fraudulent voter registration cards, and publications describing ACORN’s policies and practices. The documents also include details regarding numerous allegations of corruption extending beyond voter registration fraud, to include attempts by ACORN employees to coerce workers to participate in campaign activities on behalf of Democratic candidates.

“These documents reflect systematic voter registration fraud by ACORN,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is a scandal that there has been no comprehensive criminal investigation and prosecution by the Justice Department into this evident criminal conduct. Given President Obama’s close connections to ACORN, including his campaign’s hiring of the ACORN’s Project Vote organization, it seems rather obvious why Attorney General Holder has failed to seriously investigate these and other alleged ACORN criminal activities.”

What really happened was that as Jews were praying at the Kotel, because that's the closest that they are allowed to get to their Holiest place on earth - the Temple Mount - and pray, Arabs on the Temple Mount hurled cinder blocks down on them. The article goes on with talk of eliminating poverty and giving these fighters good jobs. When will they learn that these terrorist wars have nothing to do with money? It's all about global jihad. Their goal is world domination and they are fooling world leaders into thinking it has something to do with poverty! Do they really believe that the money will be used for the poor people? The money will be used to obtain more sophisticated weapons!

"So what?", you say. "This is taking place in The Netherlands and not the US, that could never happen here!" Well, I can't help but wonder how much longer Freedom of Speech will be allowed in the US with all the rantings from the White House these days - wake up America!

In a related post this morning at the Wilder's blog titled PC Police Aim To Kill Free Speech In Amsterdam Trial January 20 – Europe Returns To 1633, I found this statement to be particularly thought-provoking and troublesome:

The Forces of Islam, through mass immigration and Stealth Jihad, have reached a population of critical mass in Europe, the point at which European governments fear the threats of Muslim mob violence more than they fear losing their hard-won freedoms – freedom wrested at gunpoint from the cruel hands of despots, and by the bloodshed of men and women who sacrificed their lives for the liberties that many Americans now take for granted.

Those very same forces have infiltrated the U.S. and are currently in sleeper cell status. Why do high-ranking US politicians want you to think that the occassional surfacing terrorist is a loner who has nothing to do with Jihad? Are they truly ignorant - or are they onboard already?

If you are an unhappy receipient of that sudden rush of RSS feeds, please accept my apology - I had no idea of the consequences of upgrading the software! "The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights" (PCHR) published the list of "civilians" - casualties of Operation Cast Lead. This Centre which is based in Gaza Strip, gathered comprehensive details regards the casualties - Although, chose to distort the findings. Instead of filing militants of terror organizations as "Militants" - it chose to file them as "Civilians".

It's the same Centre which claims: "The Zionist Occuption Forces Murder Civilians"; It's definitely not surprising for such Centre to spread lies for the purpose of demonizing the Israel Defense Forces. Until this very day, the media and human rights organizations, completely ignore IDF's statement regards the sum of militant casualties, and keep spreading the lie - "Most casualties were civilians".

Cross-checking the claim with the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Reveals quite a bit of the truth. Nevertheless, it is only one of Hamas's militant wings. The Hamas has three militant wings: the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the Executive Police Force, and the "Morbiton". Not only the three militant wings of Hamas participated in the combat: the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades - participated as well.

Inevitable conclusions:

A. The majority of the casualties during Operation Cast Lead were militants.

B. "The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights" (PCHR) blatantly lied and distorted the findings.

Incompetence rules the air these days! There were so many really good articles written about the Flight 253 "panty" bomber that I had trouble narrowing them down, but I think these are probably the top five:

I have the solution: Federal Marshalls should train, deputize and arm all capable civilians (i.e., over 18, have at least one good shooting arm, are not blind, etc.) on the "one in the head - two in the chest" technique. And politicians who make excuses and create "victims" out of terrorists should be fired. Political correctness needs to thrown out the window and justice/adherence to the U.S. Constitution re-adopted as the social norm.

On the subject of West Bank "Settlements" I was happy to read JTA's report: Ma’ale Adumim planned as Jerusalem suburb. Having lived in the CITY of Ma'ale Adumim for a year, I can tell you from first-hand experience that it is no more a "settlement" than American cities like Albany, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee; or Tempe, Arizona!

That's Ma'ale Adumim on the hilltop. Is this what you picture in your mind's eye when you hear the word "settlement"?

Almost 40,000 people live in Ma'ale Adumim (many of whom are Americans - Jews and Christians) in normal houses with running water and electricity, shopping centers, medical facilities, etc. And right across the other side of Highway 1 is an Arab city of Abu Dis with even nicer housing than many of Ma'ale Adumim's residents can afford.

And this probably isn't what you picture in your mind's eye when you hear about the "plight of the poor 'Palestinian Arabs'", is it?

I can't tell you where the Arab residents of that town get their money from, but I can tell you they aren't living in poverty (and are living better than many Americans)!

The whole "settlers" thing that the media has propogated is no more valid than claiming that people living in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, New York, etc. are settlers because they "stole the land" from the natives hundreds of years ago. Actually it is even less valid since Americans first came to that land from Europe only a few hundred years ago and Jews have lived in the land of Israel (even on the EAST bank of the Jordan River) for thousands of years. In the late 1800s and early 1900s there were NO Arab cities anywhere in this land. The people currently claiming to be "Palestinians" were placed in Israel as political pawns and originated from the surrounding Arab nations. The area EAST of the Jordan River was created as a country by the British Mandate for those people and if they don't like it, there are 21 other Arab nations surrounding the tiny country of Israel that they have a choice to move to.

Enough of the Middle East for the moment, let's get back to issues of American's Rights to Bear Arms... Backwoods Home Magazine published a great article by John Silveira: Abandoning the Constitution! Who’s to blame for our loss of rights? . Check it out, it's a great read!

I was amused this morning to find that all over Twitter and across many, many blogs I've seen an announcement indicating that the U.N. has banned Christmas trees! Yes, you read that correctly. The United Nations has instituted a Climate Summit Christmas tree ban because the U.N. strives to remain neutral in all things (except Israel, Judaism and Christianity that is. Which of the three major religions does that leave? Hmmm...).

Officials for the Climate Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark (one of the world’s leading exporters of Christmas trees), said that Christmas is a religious holiday and symbols of religious holidays have no place at the summit. Selective political correctness? What about diversity and all that kumbaya stuff? (I have memories of the lobby of the Jewish-owned Cleveland bank I worked for decked out in a combination of Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa decorations dancing in my head. Along with many HR training sessions at the various companies I've worked for during the past 15 years on Political Correctness and Diversity.)

Anyway, back to the U.N.'s religion of choice... all hell broke loose over Switzerland's announcement of their ban on minaret construction last week. It seems like everyone out there had a passionate opinion about this -

• The Associated Press put in their "news" report.
• A former Israeli Ambassador worried that this move could hurt Jews.
• John over at Infidels are Cool was hopeful, yet skeptical.
• Treppenwitz reported that Swiss Muslims get a small taste of Dhimmitude and then he wondered...
• The Saudis lambasted the Swiss referendum.

And predictably, the U.N. screamed "Discrimination"!

On Friday, Geert Wilders blog reported that he will be prosecuted next month for telling the truth in an attempt to save the world from Islamic domination via his documentary film Fitna and the many speeches he's made (upon invitation) around the world. Seems as though our rights to FREEDOM OF SPEECH are being challenged again —and don't think this can't happen in the U.S., Obama has already stated on several occasions that he will not tolerate people speaking badly about Muslims.
(So if there's something on this blog that you really like, maybe you should print it as a PDF to save on your computer!)

Depending on your age and your level of exposure to 70s off-color comedy, you may recall George Carlin's Seven Dirty Words routine (most of which have lost their shock value thanks to Hollyweird). Well, according to a Jihad Watch commentary on a Sun article, U.K. Government ministers were given a list of forbidden words and politically correct alternatives. That along with a report of women Jihadis at a TERRORIST Training compound in NY, should give you a good picture of the future that's being planned for you courtesy of the U.N./U.K./U.S. which may soon be known as the U.N.I. (United Nations of Islam). If you read your Bibles faithfully, you might have already figured out where this is leading - but hey, don't take my word for it, Dr. Hamid Tawfik, a Muslim and former terrorist has a message for you...

Delivered by Colonel Richard Kemp, 16 October 2009

UN Human Rights Council: 12th Special Session

Thank you, Mr. President.

I am the former commander of the British forces in Afghanistan. I served with NATO and the United Nations; commanded troops in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Macedonia; and participated in the Gulf War. I spent considerable time in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, and worked on international terrorism for the UK Governments Joint Intelligence Committee.

Mr. President, based on my knowledge and experience, I can say this: During Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

Israel did so while facing an enemy that deliberately positioned its military capability behind the human shield of the civilian population.

Hamas, like Hizballah, are expert at driving the media agenda. Both will always have people ready to give interviews condemning Israeli forces for war crimes. They are adept at staging and distorting incidents.

The IDF faces a challenge that we British do not have to face to the same extent. It is the automatic, Pavlovian presumption by many in the international media, and international human rights groups, that the IDF are in the wrong, that they are abusing human rights.

The truth is that the IDF took extraordinary measures to give Gaza civilians notice of targeted areas, dropping over 2 million leaflets, and making over 100,000 phone calls. Many missions that could have taken out Hamas military capability were aborted to prevent civilian casualties. During the conflict, the IDF allowed huge amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza. To deliver aid virtually into your enemy's hands is, to the military tactician, normally quite unthinkable. But the IDF took on those risks.

Despite all of this, of course innocent civilians were killed. War is chaos and full of mistakes. There have been mistakes by the British, American and other forces in Afghanistan and in Iraq, many of which can be put down to human error. But mistakes are not war crimes.

More than anything, the civilian casualties were a consequence of Hamas way of fighting. Hamas deliberately tried to sacrifice their own civilians.

Mr. President, Israel had no choice apart from defending its people, to stop Hamas from attacking them with rockets.

And I say this again: the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

1) Why was he filmed with a SEPTEMBER 14th newspaper instead of 28th?

2) What guarantee did Netanyahu have that Shalit was still alive and well at the time of the release of 20 TERRORISTS? And why on earth was such a deal made in the first place?!

3) Why has no one - Israeli Gov't or the Red Cross - demanded that the UN order Hamas to allow the Red Cross to visit Shalit and confirm his condition? This is standard practice with prisoners of war.

4) Why is the Red Cross so involved with insuring the safety and well-being of terrorists, but displaying no concern over a P.O.W. from a friendly democratic nation?

In my opinion it's time to expose the U.N. for what it really is. It is not an international organization whose purpose is the facilitation of cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace - it is a corrupt group of bullies pursuing their own personal interests in the fashion of the Clintons and Obamas of the world.

Why does Israel care what this mob thinks of them? Israel has no business concerning itself with the opinions of the nations of the world! When it comes down to the final war, God will be fighting for the faithful of Israel and the rest of the world will bow down to Him or die. Where is Israel's faith?

Releasing ONE terrorist puts hundreds, maybe thousands of Israeli civillians at risk. Releasing TWENTY is irrational, and ONE THOUSAND is insane! Israel is in this position because it displayed weakness to Esau and Ishmael. It is time to stop bowing down to false idols and fight to maintain the gift God has given. When Israel exerts herself and displays true faith in God, we will have peace. May it be soon.

Personally I wouldn’t have been as patient or humane as the IDF was in the situation described in "Killing Civilians", especially considering that the Gazans had been firing rockets on Israeli civilians for so many years with no major retailiation on our part. When you’re dealing with terrorists (and I consider those women and children to be included in that group since they enable and support the terrorist position), I say shoot first, ask questions later.

I welcome your comments in the section below and hope that you will make your opinions known to the appropriate politicians.

"Personally I believe that Mr. Ayalon’s assessment of the current and future relationship between Israel and America is a bit naïve – or perhaps intentionally misleading.

We had been planning our Aliyah for a few years, but rushed to do so during the summer of 2008 for several reasons; one being that we anticipated a democratic presidential win and wanted to escape the galut before the prison gates slammed shut for good. Barak Obama is the poster child for Aliyah. If he is not removed from office VERY soon, the only hope for our Holy Land is God’s intervention.

On the ground (in the US) we witnessed a growing and hostile Muslim population taking over neighborhoods and aligning themselves in positions (e.g., OTR drivers, corporate IT departments, healthcare, government, universities, etc.) that pose a potentially serious threat to national security. One can only hope that the Federal and State officials are aware of these cells and are just keeping it quiet not to alarm the general public, however, under the current administration there are no guarantees regarding the safety of American citizens. Our greatest allies in America are the right-wing conservative Jews and Christians and if/when they end up in Obama’s "detention and resettlement centers" (because he envisions them as a threat to his unconstitutional plots), you can bet that the Islamic terrorists will have gained complete control of Israel’s “best friend”. And by then it will be too late for Israel’s “leaders” to pull their heads out of the sand and stand up for what is rightfully ours.

America’s rule had always been that you don’t negotiate with terrorists – you kill them and hope to save the hostages, but you must do this in order to prevent future destruction and harm to additional citizens. Why is it that the current U.S. “leadership” is so adamant about urgently pushing Middle East “Peace” action (i.e., attempting to force Israel to provide more concessions and gifts to terrorists) ahead at full speed – and to the detriment of Israel's future? It is because the U.S. is no longer being run by honorable men and women whose goal it is to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and SERVE the people who elected them. It is because keeping Israel in the “news” in a bad light distracts American thoughts away from the destruction those same corrupt leaders are inflicting on America in their obscene desire for financial gain and control of what used to be the “greatest nation on earth”. A nation they will eventually attempt to use in their goal of destroying Israel. Don’t be fooled – and don’t think we can be – into believing that the Obama-nation is Israel’s friend. One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist or top historian to glean that Barak Hussein Obama’s ultimate goal is world domination.

Torah teaches children that it is okay to disobey their parents if their parents are instructing them to violate a Torah law. How much more so should our INDEPENDENT country refuse to follow advice and demands that are self-destructive. Israel does NOT need America’s permission to exist. When will Israel’s leadership grow up and acknowledge this vital fact?

No more concessions. No negotiations. No excuses for our right to live in the land that Hash-m promised and gave our forefathers thousands of years ago. Stand up and fight like men. Ask yourself…What were the chances, under mere mortal circumstances, that Bnei Israel could have crossed the sea without being harmed by the Egyptians? And what were the chances of Israel’s triumphant success during the Six-day and Yom Kippur wars – or any wars we fought in the past when we raised our hands, hearts and voices to God? It is He, and He alone who rules over this world and if you want Him to stop punishing us for our lack of emunah, then stop talking and take positive action on behalf of the Jewish people – the only people you are here to SERVE. "

Moshe Feiglin: President Obama, both here in Israel and in your land your obvious attempt to degrade Prime Minister Netanyahu and the State of Israel has been interpreted as an endeavor to find favor in the eyes of the Arabs. After all, Moslems admire those who dare show their enemies the soles of their shoes.

Notice the soles of his shoes pointing toward the camera in a shot that he knew would be understood by Moslems to mean that he perceives Israel to be an enemy.

But there is something much deeper here than just a cynical sacrifice of Israel in exchange for American interests in the Arab world. The real significance of your Cairo speech and your declared Mid-East policy is that eight years after 9/11, the United States - under your leadership - has raised a white flag before radical Islam, has joined the evil axis and is at the forefront of the attack against the State of Israel.

The entire world looks on as the president of the United States bows and acquiesces to cruel dictators. While he simultaneously tramples the Israeli prime minister who is showing signs of weakness in a decidedly uncivilized manner.

When Chamberlain acted in a similar manner and sold Czechoslovakia to Hitler, he did not get peace in return. The Chamberlain-like conduct that you have chosen will yet bring upon your country many nine elevens, G-d forbid.

It is no coincidence that the president of Egypt did not welcome you at the airport. He didn't even bother to come to hear your speech at the University of Cairo. The Egyptian dictator humiliated you. He knew that you would nevertheless continue to yield to him, as you have conceded to all the criminals of the world.

It is important that you know, Mr. Obama, that Prime Minister Netanyahu's weakness does not reflect at all the sentiments of his nation. When you show Prime Minister Netanyahu the soles of your shoes, you would be wise to remember that the nation of Israel received the holy Torah and became a nation three thousand-one hundred years before America was established. Thirty-one hundred years before the people of America even knew about shoes.

From the dawn of history, the world has seen mighty empires that have risen, battled against the Jews and disappeared. Ancient Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome - all of them fought against us and all of them have disappeared. But the Jewish nation - the nation that has returned to its homeland after two thousand years of exile - is alive, vibrant and fulfilling its historic destiny.

In the holy Bible - the book holy to all religions - G-d says to Abraham, the first Jew:

"And I will bless those who bless you and those who curse you I will curse".

You and the United States of America have two choices: You can commit yourselves to the side of the blessing, or, G-d forbid, to the side of the curse. The choice is in your hands.

From here, from Jerusalem the site of the holy Jewish Temple, I call upon you, upon the American nation, and upon all nations that hold liberty dear. Do not place obstacles on the path of true peace that is outlined in the holy Torah. Do not place obstacles on the path of the return of the Jewish nation to its entire land, as a precursor to the redemption of the entire world. On the contrary - do all in your power to foster the process of the Jewish Return to Zion, a blessing unfolding before our very eyes.

You can also help by encouraging the absorption of those non-Jews who presently live in Israel and who do not accept Jewish sovereignty in the Jewish land into one of the 22 Arab countries or any other land that they choose. This is the only true peace plan because this is the will of G-d.

He who questions the right of the Nation of Israel to even one grain of sand of its holy land in effect has declared war on the Creator of the world.

Mr. President, if you do not want to drown the entire world in yet another blood bath, as Chamberlain triggered with his pacifism, be courageous. Restore your nation to the side of good, to the side of the nations of liberty.

As a first step toward rectification and moral clarity, I call upon you to release Jonathan Pollard. This dear Jew saved Israel and the entire world from the danger of the nuclear bomb that Sadaam Hussein was developing. He has been imprisoned in difficult conditions in your country for 24 years. The continued incarceration of our brother, Jonathan, is a message of hostility toward the Jewish nation and the State of Israel. The time has come to do justice and to release Jonathan Pollard to his family, his nation and his land.

For now, we in Israel will focus on the truly important task before us; not on the establishment of additional Arab terror states, but on Jewish education, absorption of new immigrants, building our land and modeling our society on the true foundations of a free economy that operates on the Jewish cultural values of faith and loving kindness. We will deepen our connection to the holy Torah of the Land of Israel. We will build a free society for the nation that bears the message of liberty, faith and peace to the entire world.

With G-d's help, we will cling to our historic destiny: To perfect the world in the Kingdom of the Almighty.

If you are so sure that "Palestine, the country, goes back through most of recorded history," I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine:

1. When was it founded and by whom?

2. What were its borders?

3. What was its capital?

4. What were its major cities?

5. What constituted the basis of its economy?

6. What was its form of government?

7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?

8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?

9. What was the language of the country of Palestine ?

10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?

11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.

12. And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?

You are lamenting the "low sinking" of a "once proud" nation. Please tell me, when exactly was that "nation" proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call "Palestinians" are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over, or thrown out of, the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War?

My husband obviously felt that I shouldn't be allowed to start my day off peacefully, because as soon as I sat down at my computer he said "Go to the Haaretz website and take a look at an article on the front page titled New West Bank roads jeopardizing chances for peace accord".

I seethed as I read:

Palestinian interest in the intentions of the new Israeli government tends to focus on one small area in the West Bank, Ma'aleh Adumim and its environs, particularly the area known as E1 linking the settlement to East Jerusalem.

Earlier this month Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayad participated in mass Friday prayers against land expropriation in the area, and the Palestinian media was full of reports of Israeli settlement plans in Ma'aleh Adumim and E1.

The concerns are not baseless...

Still, a significant hurdle lies around the corner: the firm, declared opposition of the United States government, opposition that is likely to be expressed during Netanyahu's meeting with President Barack Obama in Washington next week.

#1 Why should Israel care what America THINKS? America wouldn't exist if the "settlers" hadn't taken over that land.

#2 Arabs never owned or dwelled on the land now called Ma'ale Adumim (a CITY of 40,000 Americans, Ethiopians, Russians, French, British, and Israelis) or in the area known as E1, where the police station was built years ago.

The route would have expropriated lands from the Palestinian village of Sawahra and forced the evacuation of hundreds of Bedouin living between Kedar and Ma'aleh Adumim...

#3 Amos neglected to include an important piece of information about the Bedouins he claims will be displaced - THEY LIVE IN TENTS AND MOVEABLE SHACKS. Al Sawahra Al Sharqia is not a village, settlement or city housing these people year-round. The Bedouins are a nomadic people, migratory workers - many of whom are employed by the CITY of Ma'ale Adumim to provide landscaping services when they choose to remain in this area. One of them "parks" his donkey in the wadi behind our building in the morning - the donkey serenades us throughout the man's workday unless his children come and take it for a pleasure ride. If they lived in a real village, wouldn't these children be attending school? At the end of his workday, the man returns to ride the donkey off into the desert where they live in modest tents and lean-tos.

And #4 The most important issue on the table: The people Amos calls "Palestinians" are really displaced Arabs from other lands placed here as pawns in a war that cannot be won. They DO NOT want land for peace. They want all of us destroyed. Give them E1 and in a few years they'll also have Tel Aviv and Haifa and Amos Harel will be but a memory of what was once a left wing self-hating Jew Israeli "news" service.

We were concerned on Sunday when we drove home from Rechovot and saw the security fence being constructed in such a way as to cut off Ma'aleh Adumim from Jerusalem. Thankfully there are some sane people left in the Israeli government who have put a halt to this madness: Israel National News reports that thanks to Jerusalem land activist Aryeh King, Chairman of the National Lands Fund and the representative of the Jewish owners of lands in the Shaar HaMizrach neighborhood, the Eastern J'lem Barrier Building Halted Pending Court Decision.

I received an e-mail today from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking me to place banners on my websites announcing the new website created (with my tax dollars) honoring the Pope's upcoming visit. I want you to know that I have always helped promote Israel by placing content that the government has provided to me on my web sites, as well as in the comment section of other sites. However, this is where I have to draw the line. I will not under any circumstances promote the WRONG decision of the government to invite the Pope and then build a website that legitimizes "Christian Holy sites".

Christianity is a lie and I'm certain that a learned man such as yourself is well aware of that. They defile our Holy land with their idol worship, and now the Israeli government invites hundreds of thousands of them to join in – all in the name of tourism money? This is a disgrace, not to mention a potential health risk for all of us as Christians from all over the world (including Mexico) converge upon us in the midst of the "swine flu".

How dare the government of a Jewish nation perform such a chillul Hashem! May you repent, and may He forgive you and prevent the Pope’s journey to OUR Holy Land.

Yesterday's Air Force One "flyover" of Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty was most definitely not "a mistake" as Puppet-President Obama stated.

Fox News reported, "When told of the flight, President Barack Obama was furious, a White House official said on the condition of anonymity." Lies, in my opinion. (If you believe them, contact me because I think I have swamp land/an island/a time share you might be interested in.) I'll bet he was rolling on the floor with laughter. I pray that the hopeful masses who elected this charasmatic black man (and I'm all for electing a black president, if he possesses Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. values and vision) to "change" America for the better, wake up to the truth and stop him and his handlers before it is too late. America needs change for certain, but not in the communistic direction the Obama administration is steering toward.

The "official" report, according to Fox News, indicated that the purpose of this "flyover was nothing but a photo op, apparently one of a series of flights to get pictures of the president's airliner in front of national landmarks". I don't believe that and I hope you are wise enough to discern the real motives behind such a blatant waste of U.S. resources. For an administration that screams out "global warming!" (or whatever the latest political correct phrase is), this flyover is a rather hypocritical use of fuel which has now added to the pollution of the already smog-filled NYC air and cost taxpayers $328,835.

For a half-hour, the Air Force One Boeing 747 and F-16 escort jet circled the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan causing panic; business offices were evacuated, government offices/law enforcement were inundated with calls from people scared that the planes were flying dangerously low, and subsequently had to cease doing the work they should have been doing and instead made calls to officials above them to determine what was happening and what the proper response should be.

No, this was a scare tactic/abuse of power acted out by the puppet-president - the results of which will be analyzed and used against Americans at a time in the future that he and his handlers deem appropriate. Who was this abuse directed at and what did their reactions prove? Take your pick:

1. The average citizens of NYC who provided plenty of "photo ops" of people running scared in the streets of Manhattan.

2. The startled financial workers (including Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch employees), who streamed out of their offices, fearing a replay of Sept. 11th.

   Lesson from #1 & #2: The people are fearful and unprepared (despite 9-11) and will submit (i.e., surrender their rights) to the government in exchange for protection.

3. Mayor Bloomberg, who knew nothing of this planned event despite Louis Caldera's (Director of the White House Military office) claim that state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey had been notified last week.

   Lesson: Mayor Bloomberg's office demonstrated the weakness that Islamic terrorists thrive on by not reacting with force to a potential attack on NYC. Were they certain that Air Force One hadn't been hi-jacked to be used as a weapon against the people of the city they are charged with protecting? Worst of all is that Mayor Bloomberg wrote it off to "poor judgment" and stated "it is the Federal government and in the end they can do what they please." The founding Fathers would be disappointed, to say the least.

4. Wall Street power-mongers who needed to be put in their place (or were they the ones who orchestrated the event via their puppet?)

   Lesson: We may never know, but the Obama Administration does.

5. You give it a shot, do some thinking for yourself and fill in the blank ___________.

In this smoke and mirrors administration, it is also highly possible that in addition to the obvious items I've detailed for you, that this stunt was pulled off as a diversion to distract Americans from something more toxic going on behind the scenes.

Speaking of the public, what were - and will be - their response to this blatant disrespect on the part of the Obama administration? Anger and rage, expressed verbally, according to the news broadcasts - but no action. Will a class action suit be brought by the people of New York City against the Oval Office's incompetence? Most likely not. This administration doesn't worry about charges of stupidity by the public or news media; it's all a part of the illusion. The dumbing down of America has caused such incompetence to be socially acceptable. The buck passing no longer stops with the President of the United States. Chances are that the fall guy, Louis Caldera, will lose his job (after the government spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on an investigation) and enjoy his early retirement on a tropical island.

By the way, where are the photos? What was their true purpose and can the federal government truly justify the expenditure?

Nonsense from a right-wing lunatic, you say? Well then don't rely solely on my opinion, skim through these articles and do some Googling of your own. Whatever you do, don't just sit back and do nothing because your worst fears will become reality.

If I were a young, healthy American right now, I think I would strongly consider joining the U.S. Military and learning all the ins and outs of how they operate. Or perhaps I might join the new "civilian" military forces that Obama plans to conscript, where I would focus on learning every trick they have up their sleeves and then work feverishly to utilize those forces to revolt against the dictatorship that the Obama-NWO cartel is planning.

What can YOU do? Arm yourself with facts, guns, ammunition, food and water - this isn't going to be an easy fight.

Could the Arabs really pull off such an attack?

Professor Nafisi assures his captive audience that they have scientists, chemists, and nuclear physicists and the people of the world who portray Arabs as "backward Bedouins living in caves" are quite naive.

Switching gears, Professor Nafisi then encourages his audience to pray for the "300,000 white [American] militia members" who he believes are planning to bomb a nuclear power plant on Lake Michigan. Just how this professor has access to such a plan (which is probably only the plan of a few deranged extremists and not 300,000 - but sensationalism is what the Arab propaganda machine is all about) raises the question "Just how deep have Arab terrorists infiltrated American society?"

Before wrapping it up he calls for stopping Middle East journalists who don't support "the resistance" using "any means possible".

In A "Palestinian" State? Dr. Yeagley agrees:

Yes, there should be a "Palestinian" state–in Jordan. In Syria. These "Palestinian" people belong in their home country, not in Israel.

Land claims are moot if not meaningless. Only the strong hold the land. (Ask American Indians. That’s right, we still have our land–not only literally, but legally. We're American citizens!–all declared such by the US government in 1924.) The Arabic people who actually do come from families in Palestine since 586 BCE are very few. Today's "Palestinian" is basically a Jordanian native, or a Syrian. And the first Arabic people in Palestine never formed a country, a nation, nor ever had a unified religion or social structure at all. We’re not talking about an ancient nation here, with any particular claim or right to such a status or its accoutrments. "Palestinians" are not the descendents of some ancient Arab nation in Palestine.

What we’re talking about today is an illusion, a professional reactionary social response. We’re talking basically rhetoric, nothing more. We're talking Hanan Ashrawi. There is no "Palestinian" people, or any semblence of a "Palestinian nation." In 1949, Arab activist Musa Alami said of the Arabs in Palestine regarding the idea of a nation, "most of them do not know the meaning of the word. How can people struggle for their nation? The people are in great need of a 'myth.'" (See, "The Lessons of Palestine," in The Middle East Jounral, October, 1949.) Sixty years hasn’t created a nation, a nationality, a religion, a language, or any basic fundamentals of nationhood. It has produced a prolonged piece of failed political strategem, targeting Israel, which has brought nothing but suffering to all involved.

The rest of his article is well-worth reading - he concludes with "In the last analysis, the "Palestinians" have only the Arab nations to blame. The "Palestinian" is the illegal Mexican immigrant of the Middle East." Well put. In Are the Arabs, Arab?, Dr. Yeagley details the history and origins of those calling themselves Palestinians today and then gives a brief synopsis of the Palestine Mandate which gave Jews 25% of the land originally dedicated to a Jewish homeland. It is clear that Dr. Yeagley doesn't want Israel to be sacrificed on the alter of the promise of world peace.

Dr. Yeagley has some strong views on immigration and the Mexican problem America faces. Israel could benefit from his teachings and rethink it's immigration policies along those lines. In his wisdom he asks "Does a nation have the right to determine who its citizens are, and who may live within its borders?" and answers:

I know of no nation in world history that has ever existed without the authority to determine its constituents.

In fact, when a nation doesn’t have this basic sovereignty, it declines. It may disappear under foreign conquest, or in the case of hopeless multiculturalism within some over-extended empire, like ancient Greece, or Rome, that nation may absorb into a cultural malaise.

But aside from the historical view, it’s common sense that any nation, like any club, church, or organization, must have power to define its membership.

In The Magic Qur'an, Dr. Yeagle gives us good reason to put an immediate stop to the pagan incantations those of us who live near mosques are awakened to at 5:30 a.m. And speaking of the Qur'an, what exactly does it say about Israel?

All the Qur'an does say about Jews in Palestine is simply a recount of their original entry into Canaan. "O my people! Enter the holy land which God has assigned unto you" (5:22). "We settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful dwelling place, and provided for them sustenance of the best" (10:93), and "Dwell securely in the land of promise" (17:104).

Did the prophet's eye not see the violence and destruction involved in the Jews' ousting the indigenous Canaanites from their homeland? Did Mohammed fail to recognize the 'social injustice' of a few Jews taking over the homelands of multitudes?

If the prophet did not condemn Israel for being in Palestine the first time, why to the mullahs get hysterical about the Jews there now?

In 1999, when I visited Astan Quds Razavi University (a Shi’ite theological seminary in Masshad), Professor Khazee Ali pushed the same line. "We have no objection to Jews in Palestine. It is the ruling state of Israel that is unjust and immoral." Fine. Just don't say that's what the Qur'an teaches.

Islamic Professor Abdul Hadi Palazzi is quoted in the July 2, 2001, Washington Times: "A good Muslims must be a Zionist. Classical Islamic sources do not support the so-called 'Islamic anti-Zionism' preached by radical groups. The idea of making Islam a factor that prevents Arabs from recognizing any sovereign right of Jews over Palestine is an artificial apparatus that has no precedent in Islamic classical sources." Sheik Palazzi is director of the Cultural Institute of the Italian Islamic Community.

So, Muslims have a choice about what to believe, after all.

On the other hand, the Qur'an leaves the door wide open for the most base anti-Semitism—and hatred of anyone who isn't a Muslim.

On the topic of revisionist text books, Dr. Yeagley warns that it's not just Jewish history the Islamics are trying to rewrite - they've gone too far by dissing the American Indians!

One final tidbit along these lines that I'd like to share is something I learned recently regarding the anti-Israel campaigns on U.S. campuses .

I was intrigued by his writing and in my research I came across this amusing article Why I'm An Indian—not "Native American", which is a little off-topic for this blog, but I found it amusing enough to share.

Moving forward what will happen to the peace process with Netanyahu steering the "Ship of State?"
Even beyond that, as an interested American Jew I am wondering if there is any chance for the peace process to move forward with the inflammatory comments made today by Avigdor Lieberman? [note: his post was 11 days old when I noticed it]

I felt compelled to respond:

What peace process? Do you actually believe there is such a thing as a viable peace process between Israel and Middle East terrorists? If so, you should move here (over the Torah-illegal green line) and learn the reality of the situation. There will not be another"two-state solution" because it is not conducive to the survival of Israel - nor is it just for the Jewish people to give up any more of the 25% of the original British mandate that we did receive. The first two-state solution gave 75% of our land to the Arabs.

One cannot negotiate with terrorists and anyone who believes that there is an Arab population that truly wants peace with Israel/Jews, has had the wool pulled over their eyes by the flaming liberal, deceitful media and Arab propaganda machine. Making a "peace" deal with one mob boss, while the next is getting ready to take the first one - and you - down is not productive or smart.

As America crumbles, we will need every available inch of this Holy Land for the Jews who choose to wait until the final hour to flee.

It would do the world well to consider where they would be without a healthy and secure Israel vs. where they'll be if they continue supporting Arab terrorists with their financial and media resources. The two men - Israel Security Agency Director Yuval Diskin and the Prime Minister's special envoy, Ofer Dekel - updated Prime Minister Olmert on the results of the marathon and intensive discussions that they had conducted in recent days.

According to the report, it became clear during the discussions that Hamas had hardened its position, reneged on understandings that had been formulated over the past year and raised extreme demands despite the generous proposals that had been raised in this round in order to advance and exhaust the negotiations and bring about the soldier's release.
Prime Minister Olmert has summoned a Cabinet meeting for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday), 17.3.09, during which ministers will receive full details on the results of the contacts that were held.

Perhaps it's my secular American upbringing, but my response to Hamas at this point - as it would have been two years ago - would be release Gilad Shalit by midnight tonight, and we will refrain from blowing your terrorist state off the face of the map! Enough is enough.

When will our politicians, and the rest of the liberal world, realize that you must talk to these deranged people in a language they can understand? We are in this situation because of spineless Israeli politicians who haven't properly responded to this and many other terrorist attacks on this tiny country. Talk about releasing terrorists from prison in an exchange for a victim of kidnapping and terrorism is insane! THERE IS NO NEGOTIATING WITH TERRORISTS - they view it as a sign of weakness and exploit you. Wake up!

This may sound harsh (and I'm sure no one wants to accept the possibility), but what really are the chances that Hamas is able to return Gilad Shalit alive vs. the chances that hundreds, possibly thousands, of Israelis will be murdered by the Arab terrorists Hamas has demanded be released from Israeli prisons. No Man Left Behind is an honorable goal, but if Gilad Shalit is alive why was the Red Cross not allowed to visit him? Do we have proof that Hamas even knows where he is? And another thing, what would our allies in the United States of America do if faced with the same choice? Talk is cheap - and although it would be nice if he were real, Rambo is just a movie character. Israel needs to reject vilification and focus on strategies that will prove to be productive and long-lasting for the future of its citizens.

The young Arab terrorist rammed into a police car, flipping it and causing minor injuries to two police officers and then proceeded to plow into a tour bus that fortunately was passenger-less at the moment. A sharp, armed taxi driver assisted three police officers in stopping the terrorist before he had an opportunity to cause additional injuries. My condolences to his wife and child (sometimes women just don't know what they're getting themselves into when they marry!)

This is the third such incident in less than a year. The first was on July 2, 2008 with 3 people murdered and 45 injured, and the second attack happened on July 22, 2008 causing injury to 30 people.

It seems to me that, in a rational society, unemployed Israeli Jews would obtain their construction equipment licenses in an expedited fashion and the ticking time bomb Arabs would be introduced to the concept of finding work among their own - like in one of the countries they really originated from.

Are there any American or Canadian construction workers out there who would like to make Aliyah and fill these positions? If so, please contact me because I'm sure we can get Nefesh B'Nefesh and the Jewish Agency to expedite your paperwork under the circumstances.

"Palestinian missile barrages against Israel have returned to pre-Operation Cast Lead levels. Moreover, the IDF warned that over the past six weeks, Hamas and its sister terror groups have rebuilt their missile arsenals both through imports of Iranian arms from Egypt and through local production lines. They have also brought in fairly advanced anti-aircraft missiles capable of shooting down IAF helicopters."

"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed anger over the past week at what she said were obstacles placed by Israel that slowed down the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza."

"Israel is not making enough effort to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza," American officials have told their Israeli counterparts, and "the U.S. expects Israel to meet its commitments on this matter."

Perhaps Mrs. Clinton should spend some time in Gaza physically assisting with the distribution of humanitarian aid and meet the deceitful and cruel animals running the government there.

And perhaps the Israeli government should wake up to the fact that the well-being of Gazans IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY - that's what they elected Hamas for.

It is irrational to think that while Hamas demonstrates their lack of concern for the well-being of Arabs (as proven by their inhumane torture of their own brothers and stealing of humanitarian aid from the mouths of the people they were elected to care for), that Israel should make extra efforts to aid them while Hamas continues firing rockets at our civilians.

Mrs. Clinton would do well to contemplate what her reaction would be if the shoe was on the other foot. Hmm... Let’s imagine that poor, disadvantaged and abused (by the criminal element among them) Mexicans were shelling southern Arizona civilian centers several times a day because they felt they were entitled to the "return" of Arizona, New Mexico and/or Texas. Would the US response be to send in humanitarian aid? I don't think so! I happen to have a cousin who serves on the Arizona Border Patrol and I feel quite confident that they would blow the hell out of any Mexican gang who dared be so bold as to attack the United States.

It takes more than a village - and humanitarian aid - to raise even ONE humane child in Gaza, Mrs. Clinton. Your social services solutions don't work among a population indoctrinated with hate in the cradle. Just remember that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world - and from that very cradle in Gaza is where they plan to do just that.

My advice to Mrs. Clinton and the Obama-nation:

1. Get a grip on the fact that YOUR anger means nothing to the people of Israel who have to cope with terrorism on a daily/hourly basis because the U.S. pushed a weak Israeli government into giving up land for peace.

2. Keep your nose out of Israel's business; Netanyahu knows what needs to be done. Behaving like an annoying West Nile Virus-infected mosquito buzzing around, while he has serious work to do, is not productive.

3. Accept the fact that a Two-State (or Three-State) Solution is not viable in the Middle East. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it just isn't going to work. The Arabs have made it very clear that their plan is to kill all Jews and take possession of the entire Middle East - and then the world. You can't have peace with a "partner" who refuses to live with anyone (including their own) in peace.

4. Stop lying to the American public about the real threats to the nation and fortify your borders against all threats from within and without. When the Islamic Jihad decides to activate all the cells they have incubating in the U.S., you can't use Israel as a scapegoat. Take responsibility for the people who voted in the Obama administration and do some housecleaning at home before you try to tell other countries how to run their politics. You can start by cleansing the U.S. of the 35 Terrorist Training compounds and the many threats mutating on college campuses (too many in the news lately to list them all here, but I'm sure the FBI can help you out on this one).

5. Stop buying Arab oil and instead use the US sources you're not telling anyone about. And invest heavily and quickly in developing energy alternatives. The U.S. should never be dependent on any other country for anything because that just opens the door for abuse (bribery, blackmail, terrorism, etc.) - and it's just plain stupid.

6. Dispose of political correctness, and rethink and enforce your immigration policies.

Hmmm... I thought this was supposed to be a democracy. Michael Ben-Ari won his place in the next Israeli government because people voted for Ichud Leumi/National Union. They won 4 seats and he happens to be 4th on their list.

What I want to know is what are these people afraid of? He is ONE representative out of 120 sitting in the government, so what harm will his "controversial" views cause?

The editorial justifies its position based on the fact that Rabbi Meir Kahane was banned from the 1988 Knesset because of his pro-transfer ideology (i.e., send the Arabs back to one of the 21 countries they originated from). Has anyone considered that perhaps the 1988 government was wrong. Perhaps they were too corrupt to hold up to Kahane's scrutiny; or perhaps they weren't honest enough to allow more than one opinion into the Knesset.

Whether one supports or condemns the ideals of Rabbi Meir Kahane (may he rest in peace), this current "banning" presents a larger problem... If it is acceptable to ban members on the far right, it seems it would be equally fair to ban Arab enemies and members on the far left from participating in the government as well. Producing a happy, wishy-washy, do nothing centrist government that will change directions during the next four years based on the winds blowing from the Obama-nation, EU or UN.

Michael responded to Haaretz and after many hours passed they finally posted:

A government without Kahane is a crime, a shame and disgrace for Israel.

Kahane was right, definitely so as proven by the past twenty years. It's the liberal left that should be looked at for their crimes. A serious crime is committed when those in government are blackmailed instead of being criminally prosecuted. The accompanying media silence - or worse yet outright lies - reveal both their political allegiance and their lack of integrity. Corrupt politicians are not being prosecuted and removed from office for their crimes, but rather the super corrupt "justice system" manipulates them with cases ready for criminal prosecution, filed behind locked doors.

Remember PM Sharon being protected like an Etrog because he was serving the political interest of the left to avoid criminal prosecution? The result was the disastrous escalation of the Hamas problem now playing itself out in Gaza.

Other members of the Knesset have been repeatedly investigated without prosecution, which raises concern of more political blackmail. Why isn't there an honest media focus on the underlying problem? Are the few rich and powerful figures that own most of the Israeli media, the corrupt "justice system" and some unfortunate politicians, beyond our reach?

What is it going to take to get transparency and accountability in all branches of our government and honesty from the media - the arrival of Mashiach? We all need to raise awareness and strive for honesty in government and in reporting. Our new government can either work to correct this problem, or become another victim at the expense of our nation.

BAGHDAD - A woman accused of helping recruit dozens of female suicide bombers looked into the camera and described the process: trolling society for likely candidates and then patiently converting the women from troubled souls into deadly attackers.

The accounts, in a video released Tuesday [3 Feb] by Iraq police, offer a rare glimpse into the networks used to find and train the women bombers who have become one of the insurgents' most effective weapons as they struggle under increasing crackdowns.

In the separate prison interview with The Associated Press - with interrogators nearby - the woman said she helped plan the rapes of young women and then step in to persuade the victims to become suicide bombers as their only escape from the shame.

The AP was allowed access on condition the information would not be released until the formal announcement of the arrest.. In speaking with the AP - a week after her Jan. 21 arrest - Jassim repeated her statements to interrogators that insurgents organized rapes of women and she would then try to coax the victims to become suicide bombers.

(IsraelNN.com) In a special session at the Herziliya Conference on Policy and Strategy speakers called on Israel's government to recognize Jewish refugees from Arab lands. After the 1948 war in which 700,000 Arabs became refugees, the Arab states kicked out 856,000 Jews who became refugees in the Jewish State.

Pensioners party leader Rafi Eitan spoke at the meeting and said that both Arab and Jewish refugees should be compensated. According to Eitan, while Arab refugees lost 650 million dollars after the war, Jewish refugees from Iraq alone lost over 2 billion sterling lira.

Hamas leader Salah Bardawil told the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency on Tuesday evening that Hamas would, as a part of a ceasefire, agree to stop firing projectiles into Israel. However, he said Hamas asked for Egypt's help in convincing other factions to restrain themselves.

So does this mean when they take off their black fighter uniforms and stand in plain clothes firing missiles at Israeli civilian centers they think we really believe they aren't Hamas? Personally, I don't care what silly name they assign their group - they're TERRORISTS and anyone who helps them is subject to the guilt by association rule.

With regard to Israel's demand that Hamas stop smuggling through tunnels under the Gaza-Egypt border, he said Hamas's response is that Hamas is not a state and would need help in clamping down on smuggling.

However, Bardawil added, "Hamas won't agree on stopping smuggling weapons into Gaza because that would mean the end of resistance."

Well which is it?

Is he saying that if Hamas was a state they would be able to stop the smuggling, but not willing? Or does he seriously suggesting that we believe that Hamas is not in control of the current smuggling?

If they weren't so masterful at manipulating the media, convincing the ignorant and/or anti-Semitic people of the world that they are the victims, I might tend to question their intelligence and view them in the same light as the little child who covers their eyes and says "you can't see me". However, living in Israel I see the reality of the situation and the bottom line is that there's a bully on the playground that needs to be taught a lesson he won't forget in order to stop the violence.

Bob Simon said on 60 Minutes, Jan. 25, 2009, "Time Running Out For A Two-State Solution?":
"Palestinians ... when they want to travel from one town to another, they have to submit to humiliating delays at checkpoints and roadblocks. There are more than 600 of them on the West Bank."

Bob, you say Palestinian Arabs feel humiliated and harassed when Israeli authorities search them and their belongings; when they are prevented from traveling freely because of checkpoints, roadblocks, closures and curfews. You say they feel "corralled."

Bob, in Israel, every Israeli is searched numerous times during the course of a single day. Israelis are asked to open their bags and purses for inspection. In most cases, they are subjected to body searches with a metal detector every time they enter a bank or a post office, pick up a bottle of milk at the supermarket, enter a mall or train station, or visit a hospital or medical clinic. Young Israeli men and women are physically frisked in search of suicide belts before they enter crowded nightclubs.

As a matter of routine, Israelis' car trunks are searched every time they enter a well-trafficked parking lot. Daily, their cars pass through roadblocks that cause massive traffic jams when security forces are in hot pursuit of suicide bombers believed to have entered Israel.

Israelis are searched not only when they go out for a cup of coffee or a slice of pizza, but also when they go to the movies or a concert, where the term "dressed to kill" has an entirely different meaning.

These ordinary daily humiliations now extend to similar searches when Israelis go to weddings or Bar Mitzvahs. No one abroad talks about the humiliation Jews in Israel are subjected to, having to write at the bottom of wedding invitations and other life cycle events, "The site will be secured [by armed guards]" - to ensure relatives and friends will attend and share their joyous occasion.

One out of four Israeli children, ages 11 to 15, fear for their lives. One out of three report they fear for the lives of their family members, and more than a third report they have changed their patterns of travel and social lives due to security concerns.

Bob, these ubiquitous security checks do not exist in Arab cities and towns in Israel (or, for that matter, in Judea and Samaria) because those places are not and never have been targets of Palestinian terrorism. In fact, the average Israeli is "humiliated and harassed" by being searched far more times a day than the average Palestinian. Not one human rights group, nor you, has so much as noted this massive intrusion into the rights of privacy and person imposed on Israelis.

To date, no one protests the fact that, since the 1970s, Jewish schoolchildren in Israel are surrounded by perimeter fences, with armed guards at the schoolyard gates, as if their schools were the domiciles of Mafiosi.

Not one Arab village in Israel or the Territories has a perimeter fence around it. Guards are not required at Arabic shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, wedding halls or schools - either in Israel or in the Territories. Palestinians also do not need armed guards to accompany every school trip, youth movement hike or campout. They are not targets of terrorism.

Countless Israelis in sensitive areas within the Green Line - not only in the Territories, but also in Jewish towns, villages and bedroom suburbs - are "ghettoized" behind high fences.

Many Israeli motorists avoid major arteries that pass through Arab areas of Israel, while Arab citizens and Palestinians from the Territories continue to enter Jewish cities and go about their business without peril. Israelis are told, in effect, to disguise themselves when traveling abroad - not to speak Hebrew in public and not to wear garments that reveal their Jewish-Israeli origins. Even Israel's national airline - El Al - has been forced to remove its logo from the tails of its aircraft at certain airports, out of concern for the safety of its passengers. This followed several attempts to down Israeli civilian aircraft with missiles. On the other hand, Arabs who frequent Jewish cities and towns in Israel wear their traditional Arab headgear without fear of being attacked or harassed.

Bob, all this begs the question: Who are the victims and who are the victimizers? Who are the ones being harassed and humiliated? Palestinian Arabs or Israelis?

Ms. Glick presents excellent reasons why the "three-state solutions" of former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton, Middle East Forum president Daniel Pipes, and Efraim Inbar, director of Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center for Strategic Studies can't work.

In case you hadn't heard, the "three-state solutions" assert that since the "Palestinians" have shown they cannot be trusted with sovereignty, the best thing to do is to return the situation to what it was from 1949 to 1967: Egypt should reassert its control over Gaza and Jordan should reassert its control over Judea and Samaria.

Due to Hamas' popularity in Jordan and Egypt, and it's population of supporters in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Ms. Glick believes that giving the two countries control of the regions would compromise the integrity of their current governments and increase border security problems for Israel.

So what's the solution? Caroline Glick thinks–and I tend to agree:

The best way to move forward is to reject the calls for a solution and concentrate instead on stabilization. With rockets and mortars launched from Gaza continuing to pummel the South despite Operation Cast Lead, and with the international community's refusal to enforce UN Security Council resolutions barring Iran from exporting weapons, it is clear that Gaza will remain an Iranian-sponsored, Hamas-controlled area for as long as Hamas retains control over the international border with Egypt.

So Israel must reassert control over the border.

It is also clear that Hamas and its terrorist partners in Fatah and Islamic Jihad will continue to target the South for as long as they can.

So Israel needs to establish a security zone inside of Gaza wide enough to remove the South from rocket and mortar range.

From an economic perspective, it is clear that in the long run, Gaza's only prospect for development is an economic union of sorts with the largely depopulated northern Sinai. For years, Egypt has rejected calls for economic integration with Gaza. Cairo should be pressured to reassess its position as Israel stabilizes the security situation in Gaza itself.

AS FOR JUDEA and Samaria, Israel should continue its military control over the areas in order to ensure its national security. It should also apply its law to the areas of Judea and Samaria that are within the domestic consensus. These areas include the Etzion, Adumim, Adam, Ofra and Ariel settlement blocs and the Jordan Valley.

Israel should end its support for the PLO-Fatah-led PA, and support the empowerment of non-jihadist elements of Palestinian society to lead a new autonomous authority in the areas. These new leaders, who may be the traditional leaders of local clans, should be encouraged to either integrate within Israel or seek civil confederation with Jordan. Jordan could take a larger role in the civil affairs of the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, by for instance reinstating their Jordanian citizenship which it illegally revoked in 1988. At the same time, Israel should end its freeze on building for Israeli communities in the areas.

It is obvious today that for the Palestinians to develop into a society that may be capable of statehood in the long term, they require a period of a generation or two to rebuild their society in a peaceful way. They will not do this in environments where terrorists are ideologically aligned with unpopular, repressive regimes.
The option of continued and enhanced Israeli control is unattractive to many. But it is the only option that will provide an environment conducive to such a long-term reorganization of Palestinian society that will also safeguard Israel's own security and national well-being.

While it is vital to recognize that the failed two-state solution must be abandoned, it is equally important that it not be replaced with another failed proposition. The best way to move forward is by adopting a stabilization policy that enables Israel to secure itself while providing an opportunity for Palestinians to integrate gradually and peacefully with their Israeli, Egyptian and Jordanian neighbors.

Labor Party Chairman Ehud Barak said during a meeting with students at Ben-Gurion University that "we can reach a territorial continuity between Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip, by digging a 48-kilometer (157.5-feet) tunnel under Israeli sovereignty with Palestinian control of the traffic."

Barak said that the tunnel, which may be dug between Beit Hanoun and a village near Hebron would cost between $2-3 billion, "a reasonable sum."

So that's what the Labor Party has in store for us if you vote for them! IDIOTS!

Fatah publishes names of 181 claimed killed, shot or maimed by de facto government forces in Gaza

Ramallah – Ma’an – A senior leader within Fatah slammed what he called "Hamas crimes against patriotic people" in the Gaza Strip Monday.

The comments come after a string of reports of human rights violations committed by Palestinians against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli war on Gaza.

The Undersecretary of the caretaker government’s Ministry of Prisoners Affairs Ziyad Abu Ein spoke out against the rights violations and accused Hamas of "terrorism," and said they were preventing media outlets in Gaza report on their crimes.

"Our people badly need a free press capable of protecting the truth," he said, noting that the truth was all that could counter the "terrorist procedures against patriotic Palestinians."

Abu Ein also published a list of names and neighborhoods of those in Gaza who were killed, maimed, beaten or tortured during the Israeli war on Gaza.

He encouraged aid organizations inside Gaza to check the list and contact those who have given testimony and prove the truth of the list of 181 names. Abu Ein also called on the Arab League to send a fact-finding mission to Gaza and uncover the reality behind the shocking information.

Abu Ein said he held the current caretaker government responsible for initiating the proper legal procedures against those responsible for the crimes and anyone who gave the directives for murder or torture. These people must be brought to justice in front of Palestinians and the Arab world, he said.

Update: Official IDF Spokesperson's Statement

IDF estimates that the Gunman Hit South of Hebron Intended to Execute a Terror Attack in Israel

Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni, GOC of the IDF Central Command, has conducted an initial investigation of the incident this morning in which a Palestinian gunman opened fire at an IDF patrol force near the Community Yatir, south of Hebron.

As a result of the investigation, the Central Command assumes that the terrorist, who was carrying an AK-47 assault rifle, a nine millimeter handgun and five matching ammunition clips, was intending to execute a terror attack against Israeli civilians. The area of the incident is used as an illegal route into Israel for both terrorist activity and for illegal infiltrators. The terrorist who executed a suicide attack in Dimona on February 4th 2008 infiltrated into Israel via the same route.

The investigation of the incident showed that an IDF force patrolling the region noticed a vehicle driving off road, in what they suspected could be an attempt to cross into Israel. The force instructed the vehicle to halt and when it failed to do so, fired a number of warning shots in the air. The gunman stopped their vehicle and began firing directly at the soldiers. The force responded by firing back and identifying a hit. The assault rifle, handgun and ammunition were discovered during searches of the area that followed the incident.

Maj. Gen. Shamni praised the soldiers involved in the incident for their actions.

Remember the school in Gaza...the UNRWA school in Gaza? Remember the sanctuary where 43 people were killed by an Israeli attack...remember how the world screamed because people had taken shelter inside the school and here Israel, knowing where the school was...hit it?

It was terrible. Remember all those pictures? Remember all the condemnations? The cries of massacres - deliberate murder and such. It was awful. It was tragic. It was...not accurate.

That's right - see - Israel did what it said it did. It aimed for the rocket launchers. Proof was there in the dead bodies near the launch - known Hamas terrorists. But pictures don't lie, right? If the UN says we hit their sanctuary and killed 43 people, shouldn't we lend some credibility to that report? Guess not.

...but one very important Israeli says she intends to move them out. She's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, a candidate to become prime minister in elections next month. She's also Israel’s chief negotiator with the Palestinians, and she told 60 Minutes peace is unthinkable with the settlers where they are.

"Can you really imagine evacuating the tens of thousands of settlers who say they will not leave?" Simon asked.

"It's not going to be easy. But this is the only solution," she replied.

"But you know that there are settlers who say, 'We will fight. We will not leave. We will fight,'" Simon asked.

"So this is the responsibility of the government and police to stop them. As simple as that. Israel is a state of law and order," Livni said.

Well we all know she's not talking about Torah law. Her tactics could realistically lead to a civil war in Israel as Bob Simon so astutely concludes on the last page of the article.

Unfortunately Mr. Simon didn't think to ask Livni where she's going to evacuate these tens of thousands of people to - and by the way Ms. Livni, what's the status of the 2005 Gush Katif evacuees?

I strongly suggest you all let Ms. Livni know what you think of her politics with your votes on February 10th.

The Guardian's Hazem Balousha in Gaza City and Chris McGreal in Jerusalem should really follow their true calling - the writing of soap operas. Here's just a taste of what they had to say:

The bombing, shelling and shooting will stop one day. The electricity and water will be restored. And the windows of the Mousa family's flat, every one of them blown out by Israeli air force strikes on the Palestinian president's palace next door, will be replaced.

But the trauma of the four Mousa children, aged three to nine years old, will not so easily be erased. For nearly two weeks now they have endured a constant barrage of shells from navy ships they can see through the plastic now covering the windows of their seafront flat in Gaza city, as well as the air force strikes on buildings nearby.

"The children scream and cry when there's shelling. It goes on all night," said their father, Raed, 35. "Every night, all night. The building shakes. We moved into the kitchen and sleep there. It's the safest place in the house. But my children are very scared, their faces turn yellow. The sound of the guns is very loud...

It goes on with more of the same and I shout back (but there's no comment section in which to voice my rage), "WHAT ABOUT THE POOR LITTLE CHILDREN OF SDEROT WHO HAVE ENDURED THE SAME AND WORSE DURING THE LAST EIGHT YEARS? IT SURE IS DIFFERENT WHEN THE SHOE IS ON THE OTHER FOOT, HUH? IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN STOP FIRING ROCKETS AT YOUR NEIGHBORS IN ISRAEL!"

There. Now I feel better. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Heartless of me? Look, I don't mean to upset the bleeding heart liberals around the world, but the Arabs of Gaza ELECTED HAMAS knowing full well that they are a terrorist organization set on wiping Israel off the face of the map. Perhaps Rudolf Giuliani could be sent in as the U.S. envoy. I have confidence that Rudy could call in a few favors and utilizing the aggressive enforcement-deterrent strategy put an end to the terrorist problem in the same manner he managed to clean up several major gang problems in New York City.

There is strength in numbers and I don't buy the sob story about 300 "innocent" civilians sitting in a U.N. school building/weapons storage facility while Hamas fired rockets - and knowing the IDF would fire back no one did anything to stop them? Of course they didn't because they support Hamas. And don't try to tell me they're afraid of Hamas since they worship the idea of death anyway. Sorry, I don't buy it. In NY City if a gang was shooting at the NYPD from beside a school building and 300 - or even 50 - teenagers were in that school, the people would have availed themselves of the "dangerous" weapons within (bats, hard balls, desks, chairs, etc.) and beaten the crap out of the gang members.

Let's remember that the "school building" was a weapons storage facility (that the UN was fully aware of, but that's another subject for later analysis). And let's say that Abdul and his buddies don't support Hamas (we'll even forget about the fact that inside that very school they're teaching children of all ages to hate and murder "the infidel", i.e. any non-Islamic, and training them how to use the weapons). Common sense would dictate that Abdul and his buddies would arm themselves with the weapons stored in the school and team up with the IDF to kill the terrorists surrounding them, wouldn't it?

UPDATE: 03-Feb-2009 UN backtracks on claim that deadly IDF strike hit Gaza school By Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent

The United Nations has reversed its stance on one of the most contentious and bloody incidents of the recent Israel Defense Forces operation in Gaza, saying that an IDF mortar strike that killed 43 people on January 6 did not hit one of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency schools after all.
It seems that the UN has been under pressure to put the record straight after doubts arose that the school had actually been targeted. Maxwell Gaylord, the UN humanitarian coordinator in Jerusalem, said Monday that the IDF mortar shells fell in the street near the compound, and not on the compound itself.

Gaylord said that the UN "would like to clarify that the shelling and all of the fatalities took place outside and not inside the school."

UNRWA, an agency whose sole purpose is to work with Palestinian refugees, said in response Tuesday that it had maintained from the day of attack that the wounded were outside of the school compound. UNRWA said that the source of the mistake in recent weeks had originated with a separate branch of the United Nations.

If President Barack Obama is about to usher the U.S. back into the “world family,” it is high time the world started to face up to some of its family issues. Simply put, we have at least one relative who has become the family addict. And we family members live in a deep, almost impenetrable state of denial.

Stepping back from the various news reports and commentaries about the Israeli-Hamas battle, a simple notion accounts for most of the arguments on either side—responsibility. How responsibility is allocated among the parties determines virtually everything that is said on the topic.

In short, those who in some sense side with Hamas or the Palestinians in general necessarily hold Israel responsible for Palestinian actions. This is the very same process addicts utilize to rationalize their own behavior, and the Palestinians and their sympathizers have employed it for decades.

The Palestinians must be held fully responsible for the behavior of their leaders. That is one of the costs of greater freedom. Once started, the path to any form of democracy must be embraced with all its hardships. As with any addiction, the road to recovery is exceedingly arduous. But what is the alternative? The current lesson for the Palestinians is a necessary one and one which the world must help them toward, rather than shelter them from, learning. The many rationales, excuses, denials, and other distortions by Hamas and its enablers only delay the necessary adjustment and ultimately raise the cost of their freedom. If we truly want a world family, we must learn the critical family lessons.

One point Netanyahu made that differs from that of his opponents was that "Peace is purchased from strength. It's not purchased from weakness or unilateral retreats. It just doesn't happen that way. That perhaps is the greatest lesson that has been impressed on the mind of the Israeli public in the last few years."

Who Believes Palestinians' Economic Progress Will Help Bring Peace?

MK Binyamin Netanyahu said it, right? And he's been taking flak for it ever since.

But he wasn't the first to say it.

George Mitchell said it a year ago, in an interview in November 2007. Yes, it was President Obama's envoy to the Middle East who declared:

"Political and security measures can't succeed in any sustainable way unless a very high priority is also given to economic issues... economic improvement ... has to be front and center, an integral daily part of the process or else the process can't gain the necessary support of the people in the societies that are engaged in conflict... I believe, in every conflict situation people need physical security, they need political freedom, they need personal dignity. In the end what people need most of all are jobs. Economic growth, job creation, to give people opportunity, hope, create a sense of meaningful participation in society."

And here's what Netanyahu said in November 2008 to a Knesset committee, according to Ha'aretz:

Israel intends "to advance peace talks with the Palestinians, in order to gain a stable, safe, and prosperous peace." The Likud leader also vowed that Israel will "continue diplomatic negotiations and we will advance the 'economic peace' whose goal is to bring the rapid development of the Palestinian economy and to prepare public opinion for a real agreement. The economic peace is not an alternative for peace talks but will help guide a winning process. We have seen this in the world, quickened economic development has helped form the conditions for peace and the resolution of conflict," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu was strongly criticized for his economic plan.

In an article entitled, "The Emptiness of Netanyahu's 'Economic Peace' Plan", Israeli analyst Yossi Alpher wrote:

"Economic benefits for Palestinians are as intrinsically good for them as for any people, but they, like economic punishments, offer remarkably little substantive input to the peace process."

Fadle Naqib, the acting director of MAS, the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute, claimed that Netanyahu's plan was racist and bound to fail.

"If you improve the economic situation this will not solve the problem," Naqib told bitterlemons.org. "As a matter of fact, this is an idea we've heard many times before. We've heard it from Israel and we've heard it from other governments and international bodies. It contains an element of racism. It says basically that the non-white people, the third world people, the Muslim people and the colored people do not behave according to principles, they behave according to instincts and if you feed them they will do whatever you want them to do. ... I have not seen any situation where the economy has solved a political problem."

What do the Palestinians and Netanyahu's critics in Israel have to say to George Mitchell's economic prescription?

"Within two weeks, people will forget that there was a war," Chorev said. "We live in a country where no one even remembers that there was a terrorist attack as soon as funerals are over."

What arrogance! So this is what Kadima thinks of the Israeli public? Obviously it is how they feel regarding terrorist attacks and prisoners of war. I've said it before and I'll say it again, NO NEGOTIATING WITH TERRORISTS! Stop the humanitarian aid and medical services going into Gaza until Gilad Shalit is returned home. The problem with this current government is that it is too wishy-washy and willing to give in to demands (oftentimes before the other side even makes a demand!)

So therefore Christians of Europe, and indeed Christians everywhere – beware! Be very, very aware. Islam is not just a religion, it is a way of life, a political ideology and a philosophic doctrine all at the same time. There is no separation of church and state. The rule of the people, by the people, for the people is supplanted by the rule of Allah, by the faithful to Allah, for the pleasure of Allah. Liberty, deeply cherished and entrenched in Western democracies, is replaced by submission — unquestioning obedience and adherence to the dictates and precepts of the all-knowing and all-wise Allah.

There is no French Revolution in Islam, no David Hume, no Illuminism, no Goethe, no Descartes, no free-thinking. "Knowledge", in the words of the Prophet, "is only one dot, expanded by the ignorant". Absolute devotion reigns supreme.

Islam is not a democracy. There is no rationalizing with, no talking “peace” with Islam. There is only submission - or death. This is proscribed by Allah, as you have read, and it is cast into stone.

“Peace” is a Western concept, not an Islamic concept.

In time you will discover - and you WILL discover it - at your own peril and expense and over the blood of your own that the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim. I just hope for your own sake that it will not be too late.

• A suicide bombing occurs in Zayouna, Baghdad, killing over 25 people during a funeral over the deaths from the preceding attack.

• A car bomb detonates, killing at least 4 and injuring 68, in Diyarbakýr, Turkey. Police blame Kurdish rebels.

• Russia stages the largest naval exercise since the fall of the Soviet Union in the Bay of Biscay. The Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, along with 11 support vessels and 47 long-range bomber aircraft, practises strike tactics off the coast of France and Spain, and test-launches nuclear-capable missiles in foreign waters.

• Thousands of "Palestinian" Arabs cross into Egypt after gunmen in the Gaza Strip set off an explosion near the Rafah Border Crossing, destroying part of the former Israeli Gaza Strip barrier. Israeli police went on an increased alert due to fears that militants would acquire weapons in Egypt.

• A "Palestinian" Arab suicide bomber kills 1 and wounds 13 in a Dimona, Israel shopping center.

• A suicide-bomber drives an explosives-laden automobile into the front gates of the Indian embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, killing 58 and injuring over 150. Indian and Afghan agencies believe that the Pakistani Army's 324 Military Intelligence Battalion based in Peshawar had planned the attack on the Indian embassy and executed it in collaboration with either the Taliban or al-Qaida.

• A series of 7 bomb blasts rocked Bangalore, India, killing 2 and injuring 20; the next day, a series of bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, killed 56 and injured over 200 people. The Union Home Ministry of India named the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba and Students Islamic Movement of India, as the suspects

• At least 17 were killed and over 154 wounded in 2 blasts in Istanbul.

• The 2008 South Ossetia war begins, as Georgia and Russia launch a major offensive inside the separatist region of South Ossetia after days of border skirmishes between the 2 sides

• A suicide bomber rams a car into an Algerian military academy, killing 43 and injuring 45.

• A suicide truck bomb explosion destroys the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, killing at least 60 and injuring 266

• A series of ten coordinated terrorist attacks across Mumbai, India's financial capital was carried out by a Pakistan-based terrorist group using automatic weapons and grenades.
  Eight of the attacks occurred in South Mumbai: at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, the Orthodox Jewish Chabad Nariman House where the residents were tortured and murdered, the Metro Cinema, and a lane behind the Times of India building behind St. Xavier's College. There was also an explosion at the Mazagaon docks in Mumbai's port area, and a taxi blast at Vile Parle. The death toll was 195, and at least 250 people were injured.

• Operation Cast Lead : Israel initiates a series of airstrikes followed by an invasion in Gaza Strip, killing at least 460 (including at least 75 civilians) and wounding over 2,700 in response to more than 8,000 rockets being fired on Israeli communities by Hamas.
  Not surprisingly missing from most of the online news services I used to compile this survey was a list of Hamas (Arab) rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli civilians. Here's the 2008 summary:

Before condemning Israel, answer this: How would your your country react to 3,162 rockets and mortar bombs being fired on your civilians during a one year period? How about 8,088 over a 7-year period during which your country has negotiated with the terrorists and given in to many of their demands at the detriment of your country in the interest of establishing long-term peace (and under international pressure)?

• War in Somalia: U.S. planes conduct air strikes in Somalia against suspected terrorists.

• China successfully tests a ground-based ballistic missile capable of destroying satellites in orbit, drawing criticisms from other countries.

• The U.S. Embassy in Athens is attacked with a rocket propelled grenade, which causes minimal damage and no injuries.

• Bagram Air Base bombing: A Taliban suicide attack at Bagram Air Base while Vice President of the United States Dick Cheney was visiting kills 23, and injures 20. Qari Yousef Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for the attack and said Vice President Cheney was its target; he was not injured.

• Al Qaeda claimed responsibility for 2 bomb blasts in the Algerian capital of Algiers, which killed 33 people and injured 222 others.

• In London, England, two car bombs were discovered and disabled before they could be detonated. Police confirm that both vehicles were packed with nails, petrol and gas cylinders. Islamic terrorist Bilal Abdullah was arrested and found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

• al-Quds Brigades Palestinians fire five Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip to Israel in three different barrages after a relative period of calm. One of the rockets landed in Ashkelon's southern industrial zone, near a strategic facility. The rest of the rockets landed south of Ashkelon and in open areas in the western Negev.

• Four co-ordinated suicide bomb attacks detonated in the Iraqi towns of Qahtaniya and Jazeera kill 572 people and injured 1,562 people. The attacks were masterminded by Abu Mohammed al-Afri.

• After more than 200 Qassam rocket attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz respond with airstrikes. The Israeli Air Force attack a building housing the Hamas headquarters of the Executive Force in Rafah, leaving four dead and dozens wounded. The airstrike came in the middle of heavy fighting between forces loyal to Fatah and to Hamas, part of the ongoing Palestinian factional violence. Thirty Qassam rockets are fired at the Western Negev, leaving two residents of Sderot injured. Ten others suffered from shock.

  Two people die in Rafah after their vehicle was hit by a missile fired by the IAF. The two had reportedly been in the process of launching Qassam rockets. More vehicles were hit by the IAF, leaving a member of a Qassam launching cell critically injured.
  A Hamas base of operations is destroyed by Israeli missile attacks, leaving one militant dead and wounding more than thirty people, including civilians. Two people in Sderot were slightly injured by one of the ten rockets that landed on Israeli territory.

• Forty-four people are dead after 2 bombs explode at Lumbini Amusement Park and Gokul Chat Bhandar (a popular restaurant) in Hyderabad, India. Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (Huji) militant outfit from Bangladesh was believed to have masterminded the attack.

• Operation Orchard: Israeli airplanes strike a suspected nuclear site in Syria.

• A bomb explodes in Batna, Algeria as a crowd gathers to see Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika; 19 people die, 107 are wounded by the attack.

• In a Qassam rocket attack on Sderot three people were injured. Twenty rockets were fired at a kibbutz in Sderot.

  Ten rockets were fired from Gaza with four landing in southern Israel. The IAF also launched an airstrike in Gaza City, killing eight people, including Hamas militiamen, and at least thirteen others were also wounded. The airstrike was targeted at the house of Hamas politician, Khalil al-Haya, who was not home at the time.

• Over 50 people die when a car bomb explodes in the Algerian port city of Dellys.

• Russian announces it's creation and testing of the "Father of All Bombs", Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power (ATBIP). The air-delivered/land activated thermobaric weapon is reportedly four times more powerful than the U.S. military's GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb making it the most powerful conventional (non-nuclear) weapon in the world. In describing the bomb's destructive power, Russian deputy armed forces chief of staff Alexander Rukshin is quoted as saying, "all that is alive merely evaporates."

• A suicide bomber kills at least 50 people in Mazari Sharif, Afghanistan, including 6 members of the National Assembly.

• Shir-El Feldman, 32, was killed and two others wounded in a Qassam rocket strike on Sderot.

  Four members of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine are killed while driving in a car after an air strike by the IAF in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya. They were part of a Qassam launching cell and had just launched some Qassam rockets into Israeli territory. An Israeli spokesman also said that Islamic Jihad members will be targeted because they participate in the Qassam firing. A workshop used in the manufacture of Qassam rockets was bombed, killing a manufacturer.

  A first round of five rockets were fired towards Sderot, one striking the city, two landing south of Ashkelon, and two striking the western Negev. A Qassam rocket that struck Sderot killed an Israeli woman, the first fatality from a rocket attack in the country since November. Another man was moderately injured from the attack. The rocket struck a commercial center near a bakery in Sderot. Israeli civilians burned tires in the street after the attack, though the protest was interrupted by the Red Dawn rocket early-warning siren.

  A second round of three rockets was later fired towards Israel, which landed near a kibbutz in the western Negev. A third series launched two more rockets towards Israel. No injuries were reported from these further attacks.

• An explosion hits the south wing of the House of Representatives of the Philippines in Quezon City, north of Manila, killing 4 people, including Basilan Congressman Wahab Akbar, and wounding 6 others.

• In Algiers, Algeria, 2 bombs explode within 10 minutes of each other, the first near a UN office and the other detonated close to the Algerian Supreme Court. The official death count for both blasts stands at 31. The al-Qaeda Organization in the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating that it was "another successful conquest […] carried out by the Knights of the Faith with their blood in defense of the wounded nation of Islam.

• Hamas militants fired ten rockets toward Israel from Gaza. A total of seven rockets landed in western Negev, but caused no injuries. The IAF also fired missiles in an airstrike at a munitions base, and secondary explosions were reported after the strike. The airstrike wounded seven people in the attack on Jabaliya, Gaza City, according to local residents and hospital officials.

• Arab Militants fired eight rockets at southern Israel, but no injuries were reported. One rocket that was fired, landed in an open area of Sderot. No injuries or damage were reported from the rocket landing. Later, two rockets hit the Sderot area, one of them inside the city. One women suffered from shock after the attack. Two more rockets landed south of Ashkelon, one of which killed a horse in Kibbutz Nir Am.

  The IAF conducted an airstrike on the Gaza Strip, in which they destroyed two buildings. The Israeli army said that the buildings were being used to store and manufacture weapons, however, Palestinians denied these allegations. Hospital officials said that seven Palestinians were wounded in the attack. Two IDF solders were wounded by gunfire in the northern Gaza Strip and were evacuated to the Barzilay Medical Center in Ashkelon.

  A total of nine Qassam rocket were fired from Gaza, by Palestinians, towards the Israeli western Negev. Two of the rockets landed near kibbutzim in the area of Eshkol Regional Council, and the rest landed near Sderot and the area of Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. After one of the rockets landed, a fire broke out close to one of the kibbutzim.

• Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto is assassinated, and at least 20 others are killed by a bomb blast at an election rally in Rawalpindi. al-Qaeda commander Mustafa Abu al-Yazid is said to have claimed responsibility for the assassination, telling several news outlets that "We terminated the most precious American asset which vowed to defeat [the] mujahideen."

• Seven Qassam rockets were fired towards Israel's western Negev from the Gaza Strip. The first five Qassams landed in open areas close to the southern town of Sderot and south of Ashkelon. No casualties were reported from these, though a wheat field near Sderot caught fire due to a Qassam landing. Two rockets were later fired towards the Israeli town of Sderot. One of them landed near a house inside the town. This Qassam lightly wounded four people from shrapnel, and ten other nearby residents suffered from shock. The other rocket landed in Sderot's industrial area, damaging some equipment in a facility.

• Two Qassam rockets landed in Sderot, Israel. Oshri Oz, 36, was killed when a Qassam rocket struck near his car and fatally wounded him. One other man was wounded and other residents suffered from shock. Another Qassam rocket later hit Sderot injuring one Israeli civilian.
  The IAF launched airstrikes on posts belonging to Hamas in the Gaza Strip. One strike targeted a Hamas charity building in Beit Hanoun and the other a Hamas executive force position in Jabalya, according to Hamas officials and other witnesses. A third airstrike was reported in the city of Beit Lahiya. No casualties were reported from the strikes.

• Seven rockets struck Sderot in southern Israel, but no injuries are reported. A senior Hamas militant was arrested in the city of Ramallah in the West Bank.

• Seventeen Qassams hit the Negev, three landed in Sderot. The Popular Resistance Committees and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the attacks.

• Six Qassam rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip hit western Negev. One rocket hit a power line and an apartment building in Sderot. Some residents experienced and were treated for shock after the attack. The Qassam also caused a temporary blackout in some parts of the city, because of the hit on the power line. Another apartment building was hit, causing six people to experience shock, though no people were inside at the time. The latter had a claim of responsibility by the militia of the Popular Resistance Committees.

  The IAF made an air strike targeting a "group of armed terrorists", near the Jabalya refugee camp, an IDF spokeswoman said. Two members of the Hamas militia were killed, several bystanders were wounded, and a house was damaged.

• Four Qassam rockets were fired towards Israel from the Gaza Strip. Two of the rockets landed near a Negev kibbutz, causing some damage to a garage. Another rocket hit a kibbutz south of Ashkelon and caused serious damage to a warehouse. The fourth rocket landed in the Gaza Strip.

• Four IDF soldiers were injured, one moderately and three lightly, near the Erez crossing in the northern Gaza Strip. They were hurt after three mortar rounds hit their location. Hamas claimed responsibility. The injured soldiers, and six who suffered shock, were evacuated to Barzilay Medical Center in Ashkelon. Two other mortar shells landed in other areas of the Gaza Strip.

• Two Qassam rockets were fired towards Israel from the Gaza Strip. One landed near Sderot and one landed inside the Gaza Strip, neither caused injuries.

  Hamas fired eight mortar shells at the Erez Crossing, damaging the site, and causing a fire on the Gaza side of the border. Two Israeli trauma centers were opened in southern Israel near Gaza.

• Hamas gained control over northern Gaza after fighting with Fatah Preventive Security Service forces in the city of Beit Hanoun. Four Palestinians were killed and 15 wounded. Hamas also took control of the central refugee camps, Bureij, Nuseirat and Maghazi with virtually no fighting with Fatah.

  Hamas destroys Fatah Preventive Security Forces' headquarters in Khan Yunis, killing five Palestinians.

  Hamas forces seize and loot Abbas' presidential compound and Fatah 'Preventive Security Forces' headquarters in Gaza City. Other major security and intelligence compounds are also captured, finalizing Hamas' control over Gaza City. To the south, Rafah falls into Hamas control with minimal casualties. After controlling the majority of the Gaza Strip's cities and refugee camps, Hamas takes control over the main north-south road as well as the coastal road and southern border with Egypt.

• A Qassam rocket fired from Gaza struck a factory, containing hazardous materials, in Sderot, Israel. The attack resulted in a leak of gaseous caustic soda and prompted the response of police, fire-fighting forces, and teams specialized in dealing with hazardous materials who sealed the leak and removed the poisonous materials.

• Nine Qassam rockets struck the western Negev injuring three with shrapnel and causing shock in at least seven reported cases. In Sderot, rockets damaged two homes and a synagogue. Two of the rockets struck near Kibbutz Nir Am, injuring no one but causing a power outage in the area by damaging a high-tension wire. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for four of the rockets.

• Suicide bomber in Tel Aviv injures scores at pedestrian mall - attack claimed by Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

• A Qassam rocket struck a family's house in the western Negev village of Karmia, moderately injuring four people, including a 7-month-old baby.

• The golden dome of the Al Askari Mosque, a Shiite holy site in Samarra, Iraq was destroyed by bombs, setting off a period of rioting and reprisal attacks across the country which claimed hundreds of lives. No organizations claimed responsibility, however it is believed that the Sunni Islamist Mujahideen Shura Council, or groups sympathetic to its cause, were behind the attack.

• Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit bombed the crowded Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple near the Banaras Hindu University, and the Varanasi Cantonment Railway Station in India killing 28 and wounding approximately 100 people.

• Islamic Jihad fired a 122 mm Katyusha rocket from the Gaza Strip into Israel. Near the Kibbutz Nachal Oz two Israeli-Arabs (Salam Ziadin and Khalid, 16, a Bedouin father and son) are killed when a dormant Qassam rocket they find in the Nahal Oz area explodes. Katyushas, frequently used by Hezbollah in Lebanon, had never before been fired from Gaza. Larger numbers of Qassam rockets began landing in the Western Negev in March 2006: 49 in March, 64 in April, 46 in May, and over 83 by the end of June. Most of the rocket launches prior to 2006 were carried out by Islamic Jihad but following Hamas's election victory, other groups such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement claimed to take over the firings.

• President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad confirmed that Iran successfully produced a few grams of low-grade enriched uranium.

• An Islamic Jihad suicide bomber killed 9 people and injured approximately 50 in an attack at a fast-food restaurant near Tel Aviv's old bus station during Passover week.

• Two Qassam rockets landed in kibbutz Karmia, south of Ashkelon, one of them in a football field, where children played only hours earlier, and injured one person.

• At least 24 people were killed and 150 injured after a series of devastating blasts tore through the Egyptian resort town of Dahab while Egyptians were enjoying a national holiday.

• Three people were wounded, one critically when a Qassam landed near the Sapir Academic College near the Negev town of Sderot, Israel. 14 Qassams were fired throughout the day.

• Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and 7 of his aides are killed in a U.S. air raid just north of the town of Baqouba, Iraq.

• A Qassam rocket landed next to a kindergarten in a community south of Ashkelon, Israel on a Friday morning. Two children were lightly wounded and eight more people suffered shock. Additionally, the kindergarten building was damaged.

• Operation Summer Rains: Israel launched an offensive against militants in Gaza to suppress the firing of Qassam rockets from Gaza into the western Negev, and to secure the release of Corporal Gilad Shalit, who had been kidnapped by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

• Two teenage Israeli Arab shepherds were moderately wounded by two Qassam rockets fired from Gaza.

• Seven bomb blasts took place over a period of 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra and the nation's financial capital. The bombs were set off in pressure cookers on trains plying on the western line of the Suburban Railway network. 209 people lost their lives and over 700 were injured. According to Mumbai Police, the bombings were carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba and Students Islamic Movement of India.

• 2006 Lebanon War: Israeli troops invade Lebanon in response to Hezbollah kidnapping two Israeli soldiers and killing 3. Hezbollah fired between 3,970 and 4,228 rockets. About 95% of these were 122 mm (4.8 in) Katyusha artillery rockets, which carried warheads up to 30 kg (66 lb) and had a range of up to 30 km (19 mi). An estimated 23% of these rockets hit built-up areas, primarily civilian in nature. An estimated 1,123 Lebanese died, along with 119 IDF soldiers and 43 Israeli civilians.

• "Palestinian" Arabs wielding guns, firebombs attack five churches in West Bank and Gaza following remarks by Pope Benedict XVI.

• 18 people were killed (mainly civilians) and around 40 were injured as a large number of shells was fired at Beit Hanoun. IDF officials said that the artillery fire was directed at a Qassam launching spot and another nearby spot from where Palestinians planned to launch Qassam rockets.

• North Korea claimed to have conducted its first-ever nuclear test.

• The establishment of the Islamic State of Iraq is declared "to protect the Iraqi people from US attacks and defend Islam, by the Khalf al-Mutayibeen".

• Twelve rockets in four separate attacks hit Sderot, Israel killing Faina Slutzker, 57, and seriously wounding two others. One of the wounded, Maor Peretz, a security guard, lost both legs in the attack.

• An airstrike on a madrasah (religious school) used as a militant training camp in Bajaur, Pakistan kills dozens of suspected al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.

• Former President of Iraq Saddam Hussein and 2 of his senior allies are sentenced to death by hanging, after an Iraqi court finds them guilty of crimes against humanity.

• The Holocaust conference is opened in Tehran, Iran by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The conference was widely described as a "Holocaust denial conference" or a "meeting of Holocaust deniers", and provoked worldwide criticism. The Vatican condemned it, the White House called it an "affront to the entire civilized world," and Tony Blair described it as "shocking beyond belief." Holocaust historians attending a separate conference in Berlin organized to protest the Iranian one, calling it "an attempt to cloak antisemitism in scholarly language."

• War in Somalia: Ethiopian and Transitional government troops capture Mogadishu without resistance.

• Saddam Hussein, former Iraq president, is executed in Baghdad.

• A Qassam rocket struck a factory and hit 43 year-old Yaakov Yaakobov, fatally wounding him.

• A Qassam rocket attack on Sderot left Ayala Abukasis, 17, brain dead. She died on January 21.

• Armed militants enter Israel from Gaza and open fire near the border, killing 6 and wounding 5. Hamas and Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claim joint responsibility for the attack.

• During the night, a barrage of 25 to 50 Qassam rockets and mortar shells hit Israeli community of Neve Dekalim, and another barrage hit at noon. Hamas said it was in retaliation for an attack in which one Palestinian was killed near an Israeli settlement.

• An ETA car bomb injures 31 people at a conference centre in Madrid.

• North Korea announces that it possesses nuclear weapons as a protection against the hostility it feels from the United States.

• A massive suicide bomb blast in central Beirut kills former Prime Minister of Lebanon Rafik Hariri and at least 15 other people. At least 135 other people are also hurt.

• Suicide bombers kill more than 30 people in Iraq as Shia Muslims mark Ashura, their holiest day.

• Terrorists kill 5 and wound 50 in Tel Aviv, Israel; Islamic Jihad claims responsibility for the attack.

• Two Palestinian workers, Salah Ayash Imran, 57, Muhammed Mahmoud Jaroun, and a foreign worker Bi Shude, 46, were killed, and five other workers were wounded, when a Qassam rocket hit a packing shed in Ganei Tal, in the Gaza Strip. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.

• A suicide bomber blows himself up in Cairo's Khan al Khalili market, killing 2 foreign tourists and wounding 17 others. A group called "Islamic Pride Brigades" claims responsibility.

• Dana Galkowicz, 22, was killed in a Qassam attack in the Kibbutz Netiv Ha'asara, just north of the Gaza Strip. One rocket of those fired cut her life short. Hamas, Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine and Fatah all claimed responsibility for the attack.

• On July 15 Israel resumed its "targeted killing" policy, killing seven Hamas militants and bombing about four Hamas facilities. The continuation of shelling rockets over Israeli settlements, and street battles between Hamas militants and Palestinian policemen, threatened to shatter the truce agreed in the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit of 2005.

• Facing international pressure, Syria withdraws the last of its 14,000 troop military garrison in Lebanon, ending its 29-year military domination of that country.

• Attacks on tourists in the Egyptian capital Cairo leave 3 militants dead and at least 10 people injured

• A suicide attack targets a Kurdish funeral in the northern Iraqi town of Talafar, near Mosul, killing at least 25 people and injuring more than 30 others. At least 5 policemen and 4 civilians are also killed in 2 separate attacks in Baghdad.

• Uzbek troops kill up to 700 during protesters in eastern Uzbekistan over the trials of 23 accused Islamic extremists. President Islom Karimov defends the act.

• Four coordinated bomb blasts hit London's public transport system during the morning rush hour killing 56 and injuring over 700. British Islamist extremists take credit for the suicide bombings indicating they were motivated by Britain's involvement in the Iraq War and other conflicts.

• Terrorists kill 5 people and wound 90 in a crowded mall in Netanya, Israel. Islamic Jihad claims responsibility for attack.

• Israel's unilateral disengagement from 25 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and West Bank ends leaving thousands of Israelis homeless and still bound to mortgages on homes leveled at the request of the Palestinian Authority.

• Five Israelis were injured when Palestinian militants launched about 30 rockets on Israeli communities from the Gaza Strip. This attack followed an incident the previous day, in which 20 Palestinians, including 16 civilians, were killed when a vehicle carrying Qassam rockets exploded during a Hamas rally in Jabalya.

• A series of terrorist suicide bomb attacks occurred in Bali, Indonesia. Bombs exploded at two sites in Jimbaran and Kuta, both in south Bali. Twenty people were killed, and 129 people were injured by three bombers who killed themselves in the attacks.

• A Qassam rocket landed near a kindergarten during a Hanukkah party at kibbutz Sa'ad.

• Bombings in Delhi, India, killed 62 people and injured at least 210 in three explosions. The bombings came only two days before the important festival of Diwali, which is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains. The bombs were triggered in two markets in central and south Delhi and in a bus in the Govindpuri area in the south of the city. Indian investigators believe the Kashmir separatist/Islamic terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba was behind the attacks.

• At least 50 people were killed and 115 injured in a series of coordinated suicide bombings at hotels in Amman, Jordan. Two suicide bombers (a husband and wife team—Ali Hussein Ali al-Shamari and Sajida Mubarak Atrous al-Rishawi) entered the Philadelphia Ballroom of the Radisson SAS Hotel, where Ashraf Akhras and his bride, Nadia Al-Alami, were celebrating their wedding with around 900 Jordanian and Palestinian guests, and detonated. Two additional attacks took place at The Grand Hyatt and Days Inn. Islamic terrorist organizations took credit for the attacks.

• A suicide bomber kills 41 people on a metro car in Moscow.

• Four-year-old Afik Zahavi, and Mordehai Yosefof, 49, were killed in the northern Negev town of Sderot by a Palestinian Qassam rocket, the first fatal Qassam attack. The boy's mother, Ruthie Zahavi, 28, was critically wounded. A total of nine persons were injured. Hamas claimed responsibility.

• Several leaders of Abnaa el-Balad Arab terrorist organization arrested in Israel.

• At least 50 people are killed in a car bomb attack on a police recruitment centre south of Baghdad.

• The French National Assembly votes to pass a law banning religious items and clothing from schools.

• 2004 SuperFerry 14 bombing: The Abu Sayyaf guerrilla group is blamed for the deadlist terrorist attack at sea in world history, which kills 116 in the Philippines.

• Simultaneous bombing terrorist attacks were carried out by a Muslim al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist cell in 4 rush-hour trains in Madrid, killing 190.

• Two suicide bombers kill 11 Israeli civilians in Ashdod, Israel.

• A pogrom-like organized violence broke out over 2 days in Kosovo; 19 people were killed, 139 Serbian homes burned, schools and businesses vandalized, and over 30 Orthodox monasteries and churches burned and destroyed.

• On the eve of the Sukkot holiday, Yuval Abebeh, 4, and Dorit Benisian, 2, were killed by a Qassam rocket (one of three) fired from Gaza into Sderot. About 30 people were wounded in the attack, for which Hamas claimed responsibility.

  In response, the Israeli army launched Operation Days of Penitence in the north of the Gaza Strip in which as many as 133 Palestinians were killed; 40% of them civilians. The Israeli army claims responsibility for these attacks on Palestinian civilians and others. On the Israeli side five people are killed (including three civilians).

• "Palestinian" Arabs protest in the streets after an Israeli helicopter gunship fires a missile at the entourage of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in Gaza City, killing him and 7 others.

• Four American private military contractors working for Blackwater USA are killed, and their bodies mutilated, after being ambushed in Fallujah, Iraq.

• Israeli helicopters fire missiles at a convoy of vehicles in the Gaza Strip, killing the Gaza leader of Hamas, Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi.

• Chechen president Akhmad Kadyrov is killed by a landmine placed under a VIP stage during a World War II memorial parade in Grozny.

• An American civilian contractor in Iraq, Nick Berg, is shown being decapitated by a group allegedly linked to al-Qaida on a web-distributed video.

• Two suicide attacks on buses in Beer Sheva, Israel, kill at least 16 people and injure at least 60. Hamas claims responsibility for the attacks.

• A woman commits a suicide attack near a subway station in northern Moscow, Russia, killing at least 10 people and injuring at least 50. Authorities hold Chechen rebels responsible.

• Chechen terrorists take between 1,000 and 1,500 people hostage, mostly children, in a school in the Beslan school hostage crisis. The hostage-takers demand the release of Chechen terrorists imprisoned in neighbouring Ingushetia and the independence of Chechnya from Russia. At least 335 people (among which were 32 of the approximately 40 hostage-takers) were killed and at least 700 people injured.

• A bomb blast outside the Australian embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, kills 11 and injures up to 100 people.

• Kenneth Bigley, the British hostage held by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, an Iraqi insurgent, is killed after a failed escape attempt.

• Suicide bombers detonate 2 bombs at the Red Sea resort of Taba, Egypt, killing 34 people, mainly Israeli tourists and Egyptian workers.

• An Osama bin Laden video airs on Arabic TV, in which he threatens terrorist attacks on the United States, and taunts U.S. President George W. Bush over the September 11 Terrorist attacks.

• Terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, killing several people.

• Albanian terrorists take a bus and its passengers hostage in Athens, Greece and demand 1 million euros in ransom money.

• Iraq disarmament crisis: The leaders of the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain release a statement (The Letter of the Eight) demonstrating support for the United States' plans to invade Iraq.

  The Turkish parliament vetoes U.S. troop access to airbases in Turkey in order to attack Iraq from the north. The Bush administration starts working on Plan B, namely attacking Iraq from the south, through the Persian Gulf.

  The leaders of the United States, Britain, Portugal, and Spain meet at a summit in the Azores Islands. U.S. President Bush calls March 17 the "moment of truth", meaning that the "coalition of the willing" will make its final effort to extract a resolution from the U.N. • Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Ðindic is assassinated in Belgrade.

• The Stevens Report concludes that members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary (police force in Northern Ireland from 1922 to 2001) and British Army cooperated with the Ulster Defence Association (a loyalist paramilitary organization in Northern Ireland that rejected unification of Ireland. It is considered a terrorist group in the UK)in the killings of Catholics in Northern Ireland.

• A suicide truck-bomb attack killed at least 60 at a government compound in northern Chechnya.

• In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 35 people were killed, and over 160 wounded in the Riyadh Compound Bombings. al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for these suicide attacks.

• A female suicide bomber blows up explosives strapped to her waist in a crowd of thousands of Muslim pilgrims, killing at least 18 people in Chechnya.

• In Casablanca, Morocco, 33 civilians are killed and more than 100 injured in the Casablanca terrorist attacks.

• A female suicide bomber detonates a bomb near a bus carrying soldiers and civilians to a military airfield in Mozdok, a major staging point for Russian troops in Chechnya, killing at least 16.

• A double suicide bombing at a Moscow rock concert kills the attackers and 15 other people.

• A Russian security agent dies in Moscow, while trying to defuse a bomb a woman had tried to carry into a cafe on central Moscow's main street.

• A suicide bomber rams a truck filled with explosives into a military hospital near Chechnya, killing 50 people, including Russian troops wounded in Chechnya.

• Four bus, train and car bombings in Mumbai, India killed 67 and injured 280 people.

• Two suicide bombers drove an explosive-filled truck into a government security services building near Chechnya, killing 3 and injuring 25.

• The IDF was on high alert following several days of violence in which an IDF soldier was killed in an exchange of gunfire along the border fence with Lebanon near Metulla and IAF warplanes expanded the war on terrorism by striking deep inside Syria.

• Two car bombs explode simultaneously in Istanbul, Turkey, targeting 2 synagogues, killing at least 25 people and wounding more than 300; Al-Qaida claims responsibility.

• A suicide bombing on a commuter train in southern Russia kills 44 people. President Vladimir Putin condemns the attack as a bid to destabilize the country 2 days before parliamentary elections.

• A female suicide bomber blows herself up outside Moscow's National Hotel, across from the Kremlin and Red Square, killing 5 bystanders.

• Libya admits to building a nuclear bomb.

• The Spanish police thwart an attempt by ETA (an armed and illegal Basque nationalist and separatist organization) to detonate 50 kg of explosives at 3:55 p.m. on Christmas Eve inside Madrid's busy Chamartín Station.

• Kidnapped Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl is murdered in Karachi, Pakistan.

• A Qassam 2 rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel landing in a field six kilometers from the Gaza border near Kibbutz Sa'ad in the Negev Desert. Israel views the use of the Qassam 2 rockets as a major escalation in fighting, since the missiles have a range of six to ten kilometers - sufficient to hit Israeli cities if fired from the West Bank. Israel responded with air force attacks and an armored incursion. Seventeen militant prisoners were released from Gaza jail as a result. No deaths were reported.

• A series of riots leaves hundreds dead, after 59 Hindu pilgrims die aboard a train burned by a Muslim mob in Godhra, India.

• Pakistan: two members of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi bombed the International Protestant Church in Islamabad during a church service. Five people were killed and 40 people were injured, mostly expatriates. In July 2002 Pakistani police killed one of the alleged perpetrators and arrested four Lashkar-e-Jhangvi members in connection with the church attack. The LJ members confessed to the killings and said the attack was in retaliation for the U.S. attack on Afghanistan.

• An Arab suicide bomber terrorized a Passover seder at the Park Hotel in Netanya, Israel killing 30 Jews and injuring about 140 more. The event was attended by 250 guests, many of whom were elderly Jews who didn't have family and relatives, some of the victims were Holocaust survivors. The attack triggered Operation Defensive Shield.

• Approximately 200 Arab militants held hostages in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The Church bell-ringer was killed and many others wounded. The IDF killed nine "Palestinian" Arab terrorists during their attempt to rescue Christian civilians.

• The US State Department released a report naming 7 state sponsors of terrorism: Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.

• In Karachi, Pakistan, a car bomb in front of the U.S. Consulate kills 12 Pakistanis and injures 50.

• A car bomb killed at least 30 people in Afghanistan, and an assassination attempt on Afghan President Hamid Karzai failed the same day.

• The Congress of the United States passes a joint resolution, which authorizes the President to use the United States Armed Forces as he deems necessary and appropriate, against Iraq.

• Myyrmanni bombing: A lone bomber explodes a home-made bomb in the Myyrmanni shopping mall north of Helsinki, Finland; the casualties include himself.

• Terrorists detonate bombs in 2 nightclubs in Kuta, Bali, killing 202 and injuring over 300.

• Moscow theatre hostage crisis: the seizure of a crowded Moscow theatre by about 40-50 armed Chechen rebel fighters who claimed allegiance to the separatist movement in Chechnya. They took 850 hostages and demanded the withdrawal of Russian forces from Chechnya and an end to the Second Chechen War. Thirty-nine of the terrorists were killed by Russian forces, along approximately 129 of the hostages.

• In Nigeria, more than 100 are killed at an attack aimed at the Miss World contestants.

• U.S. President George W. Bush signs the Homeland Security Act into law, establishing the Department of Homeland Security, in the largest U.S. government reorganization since the creation of the Department of Defense in 1947.

• A suicide truck-bomb attack destroys the headquarters of Chechnya's Moscow-backed government, killing 72.

• Iraq disarmament crisis: British and U.S. forces carry out bombing raids, attempting to disable Iraq's air defense network.

• In Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, an attempt is made to reconstruct the Ferhadija mosque. However, the ceremony results in mass riots by Serb nationalists, who beat and stone 300 elderly Bosnian Muslims.

Meanwhile television networks with offices in the building denied that rockets had been launched from anywhere nearby in a biased response against the IDF's shelling of the building, which drew international condemnation (thanks to the media spinners).

Observers have reported that hundreds of Hamas fighters were killed in the conflict, while Israel lost 10 soldiers in combat and three civilians in rocket attacks. However, in the attempt to present this war as a victory, Hamas TV reported today that Hamas lost only 48 fighters and killed 80 Israelis, including 49 soldiers.

This film aims to reinforce the victory myth that Hamas is trying to sell to its people.

Israelis don't view wars with terrorists that cause the death of civilians - on either side - to be a victory for anyone; these military operations are necessary for the protection and preservation of Israel.

The war Israel is fighting is far from over. The real battle, for Israel's right to exist and prosper and for a safer Middle East for our children to grow up in, is yet to be fought. The Arab teenager hurled heavy stones at Israeli-owned vehicles along a Samaria highway last Tuesday evening. He managed to hit one car, which was driven by a resident of the nearby town of Emmanuel.

Fearing further attacks, the driver fired a single shot in the air to frighten away the stone-thrower. He then contacted local security officers to report both the attack and his own response.

A short time later, Israeli paramedics received a report of an Arab teen found unconscious and badly wounded next to a highway. The teen suffered a serious head injury that appeared to be a bullet wound. Medical personnel rushed to the scene but were unable to save the young Arab, who died a short time later.

Police originally believed that the resident of Emmanuel who reported firing in the air had in fact fired at his attacker, killing him. The man was arrested and questioned. However, an initial forensic report showed that the attacker had not been killed by a bullet, and the detainee was released.

A final forensic report, released over the weekend, showed that the attacker was killed when a stone he threw hit the car driven by the man from Emmanuel. The stone hit the car's tire and bounced back at high speed, hitting the attacker and leaving him with a fatal head injury.

• Until this conflict began, history books everywhere always expressed great satisfaction and a certain chauvinistic pride when a nation's army inflicted on the enemy a large number of casualties, vis-à-vis a trifling price paid by "our boys." Israel is the only country expected to behave differently and, in fact, it does; I know of no other nation that announces where and when it will drop its bombs, thus enabling civilians to evacuate the territory...
• The Jews build underground shelters in all houses near the border; they close the schools and hide the children at the least sign of danger; they treat the death of a single soldier as a national tragedy; they do everything possible to rescue their prisoners, and protect the civilian population from the consequences of war.
• The authorities in Gaza, drunk with violence, fire their machine guns irresponsibly into the air to express joy or grief (causing numerous injuries), do not hesitate to install their headquarters or hide their guns in schools, mosques or hospitals, use human shields to protect themselves, turn to suicidal terrorists and reward the families of such "martyrs" with money.

In a February 2006 video (which has been pulled from Al Jazeera's Memri.org broadcasting network), Dr. Wafa Sultan, a California Syrian-American psychiatrist, participated in the Arab weekly discussion program The Opposite Direction. Dr. Sultan debated with host Faisal al-Qassem and Ibrahim Al-Khouli about the Clash of Civilizations theory, criticizing Muslims for treating non-Muslims differently, and for not recognizing the accomplishments of Jewish and other members of non-Muslim society while taking advantage of their wealth and technology.

Dr. Sultan was also interviewed by New York Times journalist John M. Broder in an article published on March 11, 2006 titled For Muslim Who Says Violence Destroys Islam, Violent Threats.

Ms. Macleod had Michael on the phone for about 45 minutes on Friday (while he was supposed to be making his special Shabbat salad) and only managed to come away with 224 of his passionate words (I heard him yelling through the closed door and over the noise of my food processor) for use in this article (you'll have to scroll down to the second page to read his interview).

One alarming point that came out of the other three interviewees mouths was their opposition to our right to live in Ma'aleh Adumim (referred to by some as the "West Bank" - we consider it part of the Biblical Land that Hashem gave to Bnei Israel).

ASSAF NATHAN, in Haifa: "I don't care about land so much - I consider the settlers to be even worse than Hamas."

ZALLI JAFFE, in Jerusalem: "I do think some of the land in the West Bank - the majority - will have to be returned to the Palestinians."

HANNAH STERN, in Tel Aviv: "In terms of a wider peace deal, if it was up to me I'd give up the whole of the West Bank."

Unfortunately, BBC News has not turned the Comments feature on for this article, otherwise I'd tell ZALLI JAFFE that there is no such thing as Palestinian people and no Arab "nation" ever ruled over this land. And I'd remind this "religious Jew" that we are living on the land given by God to the tribe of Judah (that's where the name "Judean" desert comes from!)

I'd tell HANNAH STERN that if it were up to me, I'd relocate the Gazans (who have been displaced by their own Arab brothers for use as political pawns) to the bleeding heart liberal Tel Aviv neighborhoods for a while. I think that would change your tune pretty quickly. These people don't belong in Gaza, the "Palestinian nation" is fiction for your entertainment, and the "West Bank" belongs to the tribe of Judah.

And to ASSAF NATHAN, I challenge you to spend one week in our West Bank Jewish community of Ma'aleh Adumim and then an equal week with a nice Hamas family and get back to me with your opinions because I can't consider them valid when you speak from such ignorance and hatred of your own people.

I like listening to alternative rock and hangliding on weekends and that’s basically who I am, just a regular guy.

I wanted to talk to you about some stuff I witnessed during the term I was in the military, in the army.
Some stuff that made me wonder about the Palestinian people and how they can improve their lives. I’m sure the Palestinian people want peace.

During my military time I used to talk to a lot of Palestinians in the check points and restaurants and places like this and I’ve seen their way of life there. Their daily routine, it’s hard, it’s not easy. And I don’t think the leaders really care enough so that the common “joe” will have a better routine day or better stuff for himself or better job, things like that. He doesn’t really care, he cares only for his political interests and political agenda. He doesn’t think of the common people.

This one time when I was stationed near Gaza there was a problem with the electricity and as you know the electricity in Gaza comes from Israel. The Israeli Electric company sent an Israeli technician to fix the electricity and he was climbing up the pole, you know of the electric lights, and a Palestinian sniper shot him down, and killed him. And I was thinking what the hell are they doing? Why are they doing it?

Its the terrorist organizations. They don’t care if the Palestinian people will be damaged for their actions. They just do it, like this example. If the technician was killed and for 2 days Gaza didn’t have electricity, not the hospitals not the students who wanted to surf on the internet they didn’t have electricity for their computers for 2 days. And eventually the electricity company sent another technician and he fixed it. I just wonder what the hell are those terrorists thinking?

The people of Gaza shouldn’t suffer, they’re regular people. I know a lot of them, they are common people, they have children, they have jobs, their own concerns. earning a living, health problems and whatever. You know, ordinary problems. You dodn’t need to add that to all the problems due to political conflict and stuff like that. They are using the civilian population in Gaza. They are abusing them by staying inside of them. If you want to fight us, you know I get it, get out of the civilian population and fight okay?

But when you inside a school and shooting from a school when you know that the IDF won’t bomb the school because there are children in there, you are actually endangering the children in the school. And that’s not fair to the children, that’s not fair at all, because the children will eventually will be hurt and that’s because of you. If you care aobut the children you won’t shoot from the school. You can’t use them as a human shield, it’s not fair for them.

The unspoken truth about the fighting in Gaza, which began on December 19, 2008, when Hamas rockets broke a voluntary truce, is that this is the frontline of a much larger war. This war began 30 years ago with the Islamic Revolution in Iran and is now global in scope. Its agenda is the extermination of the Jews and the destruction of the West.

But don't just take my word for it, according to Arab leaders there is no such thing as the "Palestinian" people.

On March 31, 1977 the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. His statements were also later published in the Boston Herald and you'll find them at various Internet sites as well. Here's what he said:

The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.

How does Jordan feel about this statement?

King Abdullah in 1948: "Palestine and Jordan are one..."

Prince Hassan of the Jordanian National Assembly on February 2, 1970: "Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is only one land, with one history and one and the same fate".

Abdul Hamid Sharif, Prime Minister of Jordan in 1980: "The Palestinians and Jordanians do not belong to different nationalities. They hold the same Jordanian passports, are Arabs and have the same Jordanian culture."

King Hussein in 1981: "The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan."

And here's what a few Arab-Americans have to say:

Distinguished Arab-American Princeton University historian Philip Hitti testified before the Anglo-American Committee, "There is no such thing as 'Palestine' in history."

According to Arab-American columnist Joseph Farah, "Palestine has never existed - before or since - as an autonomous entity... There was no language known as Palestinian. There was no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a Palestine governed by the Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc."

In other words, Jordan is Palestine. Jordanians and Palestinians are Arabs.

The Arabs deserve an Academy Award for their ability to create a fictional world in which they are victims of oppression at the hands of Israel and the U.S., deceiving the West by preying on their value for human life - a value not evident in their own culture.

The "victims" were masterfully created by Arab leaders; rather than using the billions of humanitarian aid dollars they received from the U.S. and other Western countries for programs to improve the lives of the people they are responsible for, they increased their own personal wealth and illegally invested what was left on weapons and terrorist training facilities. Training camps from which they attack the hand that feeds them.

Despite the desire of many to save every creature on earth, rabid dogs must be put down. As with dogs, the Arabs have sensed the fear and weaknesses of our humanitarian cultures. They know we don't want them to starve, that we want their children to be healthy, educated and warm on a cold night. We feel badly for them when we see the pathetic photographs in their propaganda. And they view our open hearts as weakness and take advantage of the opportunity to make more unreasonable demands that the world pressures Israel to concede to in the interest of humanity. While our defenses are down, they strike; again, and again, and again. The Western world must stop the bloody rollercoaster and put an end to terrorism once and for all.

Two-State is Not a Solution or an Option
Granting a state to a people who have failed at self-rule and have demonstrated no intention of being peaceful neighbors to any country (including their own people) is not a viable solution. The fact is that Jordan occupies 77% of the original Palestine Mandate that was originally promised to the Jewish people. The population density of Jordan is less than 61 people per square mile leaving lots of room to absorb many more of their brethren and cousins. And since both Jordan and the Palestinians have declared that they are one in the same, this should not present a cultural or economic problem for either side.

The Palestinian Goal is to Destroy Israel
On September 12, 1993, the day that Yasir Arafat signed the Declaration of Principles (a.k.a. Oslo Accords), he explained his actions on Jordan TV as follows:

Since we cannot defeat Israel in war, we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish a sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.

That's a pretty clear statement of the goals of the Palestinian people. We must stop negotiating with terrorists. They must be removed from society for the preservation of all nations. And Israel must be allowed to defend its people by forcefully putting an end to Palestinian terrorism in any way it deems necessary. Israel is not subject to the fictional scenarios laid out in the 1977 Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions. They didn't sign on, nor did the U.S. because the idea that there is a community of nations all playing by the same rules is a fantasy.

Before accusing Israel of "war crimes" one should imagine how they/their country would react to the terrorism Israeli civilians have had to endure if it were being inflicted on them by their neighbors. And then either be a part of the solution or stay out of the way.

It is high time for Hamas to step down as the keeper of Gaza.

Clearly, Hamas has not mastered the art of politics...

That resistance has for many years been funded by donations from wealthy Arabs in the Gulf, among others to cover an annual budget that the US Council on Foreign Relations estimates at $70 million. Despite such sums, Hamas has hardly managed to amass a significant arsenal or military capabilities.

All it has to show after all this time and money is little more than long-range fireworks that it launches into neighbouring towns but which do more damage to its own image than to any infrastructure in Israel...

Many thought that Gaza and the West Bank were inseparable entities until Hamas’s bloody takeover of the Strip in the summer of 2007 damaged that notion. Their 18-month rule is marred by lawlessness, extra-judicial public killings and gang warfare that is more reminiscent of Somalia than a civilised state...

By any standards Hamas has failed miserably. It has failed in peace, failed in governance, and moreover failed in war. In addition to Hamas’s ambiguous political agenda, their goal seems to be resistance for the sake of resistance, a quagmire where the journey really is the destination. It is time for Khaled Mashaal to step down and allow more competent leaders to emerge before he causes even more damage to his cause. The question is if Hamas leaves, what is the alternative?

In fact, probably the only good thing that can be said about Hamas is that they are not Fatah.
