Statistics: Arab Attacks on Israel in 2008
Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center's report Summary of rocket fire and
mortar shelling in 2008 demonstrates that even during times of cease fire the Arabs continued terrorizing Israeli civilians.
During 2008 Arab terrorists fired 1665 rockets and 1497 mortar bombs into Israeli civilian areas. By the end of the year they managed to acquire longer-range rockets enabling them to put close to 1 million Israelis at risk of death or injury, and causing major property damage.
Between 2001 and 2008, Arab terrorists have fired 8088 rockets and mortar bombs that have landed within Israel terrorizing it's civilians.
Total rocket attacks through 2008:
Since the first rocket fell on Israel on 16 April 2001: 4,067
Since the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in August 2005: 3,484
Since the Hamas takeover of Gaza in mid-June 2007: 2,046

Gaza Disengagement Terms in which you will find the following statement (both articles of which Hamas has violated and the PA has not held up their end of the agreement):
"ARTICLE XVIII: PREVENTION OF HOSTILE ACTS
Both sides shall take all measures necessary in order to prevent acts of terrorism, crime and hostilities directed against each other, against individuals falling under the other’s authority and against their property, and shall take legal measures against offenders. In addition, the Palestinian side shall take all measures necessary to prevent such hostile acts directed against the Settlements, the infrastructure serving them and the Military Installation Area, and the Israeli side shall take all measures necessary to prevent such hostile acts emanating from the Settlements and directed against Palestinians."
"ARTICLE XIX: MISSING PERSONS
The Palestinian Authority shall cooperate with Israel by providing all necessary assistance in the conduct of searches by Israel within the Gaza Strip and the Jericho Area for missing Israelis, as well as by providing information about missing Israelis. Israel shall cooperate with the Palestinian Authority in searching for, and providing necessary information about, missing Palestinians."
1996: Israel Declares War on Hamas

A day after two homicide bomb attacks killed 25 Israelis and the two bombers, Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres vowed to methodically and incessantly wage war against the militant Islamic movement Hamas.

2001 Homicide Bombing at Tel Aviv Disco

A Palestinian Homicide Bomber killed 16 people and injured dozens of others in a terror attack at a Tel Aviv night club.
An Israeli police official said that a suicide bomber, with an explosive device packed with bullets and nails, apparently mingled with the crowd and then "blew himself up at the entrance to the club."
An announcement on Abu Dhabi television said Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian militant group, claimed responsibility.
The Israeli government put the blame on Yasir Arafat, the Palestinian leader. "There is no doubt that Arafat can control these things," Danny Naveh, a cabinet minister, told CNN.
The previous weekend, a car bomb exploded in a nightclub area of Jerusalem and a second bomb exploded the next morning. Three other explosions took place in Israeli cities over the course of the week.
